OverviewLocation Type: HybridSchedule: Monday through Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PMThe Portfolio Manager oversees the existing commercial and small business loan portfolio. Key responsibilities include underwriting new loan requests, processing renewals, annual reviews, covenant testing and modifications. An ideal candidate is an experienced commercial lending professional who is self-motivated to successfully manage responsibilities to meet deadlines. ResponsibilitiesUnderwrite new loan requests, renewals, annual reviews, and modifications on C & I, Construction & Development, Vehicle and Equipment loan requests on Conventional and SBA 504 / 7a loan products for corporate applicantsManage requests ranging from $5M to $25MPerform special financial statement analysis involving complex and interlocking relationshipsDetermine acceptable quality of collateral and loan-to-value ratiosCoordinate all activities required to complete a credit package with the assigned Commercial Loan OfficersInteract with Loan Officers, Members, or CPAs to obtain necessary financial information and complete the credit packagePrepare effective packages for credit approval circulation and present packages to the required level of credit authorityObtain and monitor various loan portfolio reports such as Maturing Loans, Past-Due Loans, and Annual ReviewsAssist lenders with requisite action plans in a proactive mannerEnsure that the credit union has current financial information and the information is correctly analyzed and on fileEnsure that accurate and complete credit files are on handEnsure that credits are accurately risk-rated and properly monitored or reported Adhere and comply with all requirements of Regulation B Adverse Action Procedures - Florida DivisionManage and track covenants, borrowing bases, A-R Ageing, etc. for accountsAssist in the preparation of weekly, monthly, or quarterly reportsAdvise lenders on issues related to the credit policy, procedures, or formsConduct annual site visits, attend loan closings, and other tasks required to support assigned lendersEvaluate and review existing relationships and new credit requests to make recommendations to the Credit TeamMaintain knowledge and understanding of current trends, laws, and issues affecting the area of expertiseAttend educational events to increase professional knowledge QualificationsBachelor’s degree in a business-related field preferred (A comparable combination of work experience and training may be substituted for education requirements)4+ years of experience in a credit-oriented and underwriting position within a commercial lending environmentKnowledge of credit underwriting, accounting, and loan documentation Advanced level of interpersonal and social skills needed to interact with loan officers, administrative staff, and customers Advanced mathematical, credit, and administrative skills Proficient computer skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Ability to write reports and business correspondenceAbility to effectively present information and respond to questionsAbility to prioritize tasks by effectively managing competing and changing priorities to meet required deadlinesAccurate, detail-oriented, and organized with task management Ability to resolve difficult and complex problemsStrong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to interact effectively with members, staff, vendors, and government regulatorsAbility to influence others regarding policies, practices, and proceduresStrong knowledge and understanding of regulatory compliance to successfully perform job responsibilitiesBenefits Financial Well-Being: Bonus Program up to 12%, 401K Matching up to 8%, Retirement Planning, Pay Increases based on Competency, Employee Loan Discounts, Flex Spending AccountsWellness: Medical Coverage, Dental and Vision Coverage, Access to 4,000+ Gyms, Mental Health Resources, PTO Wellness Days, Short Term and Long Term Disability CoverageWork-Life Balance: 11 Paid Holidays, 3 weeks of Paid Time Off, 4 weeks of Paid Parental Leave, Birthday PTOCommunity Involvement: Paid Volunteer HoursGrowth: Degree Assistance up to $5,000 per yearFor more information, including additional benefits, please visit our benefits website at Overview#LOVEWORK Employees flourish in an inclusive culture celebrating growth and prioritizing the community.For more information, please visit our careers site at
