Adecco is hiring a Greenhouse Technician for a well-established agricultural and plant science organization recognized for advancing crop innovation, sustainability, and applied research. This is a fully onsite opportunity in Jerseyville, IL , supporting greenhouse operations and research initiatives in a hands-on, collaborative environment. This role is ideal for candidates with experience or strong interest in plant science, greenhouse operations, irrigation systems, and applied research. The Greenhouse Technician will play a critical role in maintaining greenhouse environments, supporting experimental studies, and ensuring operational excellence across multiple projects. Pay: Up to 26.1/hr depending on education and relevant experience level Position Overview The Greenhouse Technician will support daily greenhouse operations, environmental systems, and research activities. This role requires strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work independently while contributing to a multi-site, cross-functional research team. Work Location 26207 Davidson Road Jerseyville, IL 62052 (Onsite) Key Responsibilities Greenhouse Environmental Control & Irrigation + Learn and operate greenhouse environmental control and irrigation systems, including programming, monitoring alarms, and troubleshooting system issues. + Perform routine inspections and maintenance of environmental chambers, lighting systems, racks, and bulbs. Greenhouse Operations & Maintenance + Maintain clean, organized greenhouse spaces, including sweeping floors, managing supplies, and inspecting hoses and nozzles. + Clean and maintain evaporative cooling systems and related components. + Provide hands-on support for daily planting, sampling, pollination, and harvesting activities. Research Support + Assist with experimental setup and takedown, including installation of irrigation systems and equipment. + Collect research data as part of collaborative project teams. + Clean, maintain, and store equipment following study completion. + Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of greenhouse operational procedures. Logistics & Communication + Collaborate with other greenhouse sites as needed. + Participate in project meetings and operational discussions. + Communicate updates, issues, and system changes in a timely and professional manner. + Follow all safety protocols, sanitation standards, and company policies. Qualifications + Minimum 2 years of greenhouse, agricultural, plant science, or related experience preferred . + Strong interest in greenhouse operations, plant propagation, and irrigation systems. + Excellent organizational, observational, and communication skills. + Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-project team. + High attention to detail with strong task prioritization abilities. + Willingness to obtain Ag Worker Training and Pesticide Handler Training . + Ability to work in greenhouse, field, and laboratory environments, including physically demanding conditions. + Ability to stand, walk, lift materials, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods. + Basic math skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint) . + Willingness to work weekends and some holidays as needed.
