Overseeing hospital policy and problem resolutions, you will serve as a both leader and resource in facilitating efficient operations throughout the facility.It's an exciting time to be nurse at MultiCare. Together, we are creating an environment where nurses are owners in the clinical decision-making process, are well connected, have open communication with their colleagues, feel supported to develop professionally, and understand the future of nursing at MultiCare.ResponsibilitiesYou will organize patient care by prioritizing, delegating, delivering, and evaluating on an ongoing basesYou will engage your critical thinking skills in making decisions regarding patient care, including knowledge and integration of relevant standards, resources, and dataYou will utilize the knowledge base of nursing education and experience to deliver nursing care using the nursing process according to hospital policies, procedures, and protocolsCollaborate with the nursing team to facilitate overall improvement in quality of care, patient experience, and cost reductionFoster a learning environment for patients/families, nursing staff, and members of the health care teamAdvocate for ethical and holistic care promoting the autonomy, dignity, and health of patients from diverse ethnic and social backgroundsRequirementsBachelor's degree in Nursing, or obtained within five (5) years from the initial date of hire; RN with 15+ years of service or internal candidates hired before January 1, 2021 may be considered in satisfaction of this requirement in lieu of an education agreementAdvanced degree in Nursing (MSN, PhD, DNP, ARNP) preferredCurrent Registered Nurse license in Washington State or Multistate License endorsement (MLS)Current BLS certificationACLS certification or must become certified within 6 months of employmentFive (5) years recent clinical experience in a tertiary acute care settingPrevious experience and demonstrated skills in a leadership or a supervisory roleThree (3) years management experience preferredAbout Tacoma General HospitalMultiCare Tacoma General Hospital, in the heart of Tacoma, WA, is a 367-bed regional medical center delivering cutting-edge care.
