FTE: 0.300000 Standard Hours: 12.00 Shift: Shift 3 ShiftDetails: Holidays: every other Weekends: every other Job Summary: TheCritical Care Technician (CCT) assists the Registered Nurse withdelegated tasks related to the acute care of the patient. Provides ageappropriate care in a culturally and ethically sensitive manner. Reportsto the Nurse Manager of the assigned unit and the RN's on duty on eachassigned shift. Other duties as assigned. EDUCATION DESCRIPTION: HighSchool diploma or equivalent is required. TRAINING DESCRIPTION:Completion of the Critical Care Tech course or equivalency within 6months of hire date. Successful completion of a skill competencychecklist (validated by a Registered Nurse) is required. Successfulcompletion of arrhythmia recognition course and successful orientationto the monitor room to work as a monitor technician is required within 6months of hire for staff in the FWBH MCU and the FMFH 2nd floor MCU.Candidates with prior monitor technician experience may complete awritten competency test to meet this requirement. ' SPECIAL SKILLSDESCRIPTION: Ability to read, write and communicate verbal and writtencommunication. LICENSURE DESCRIPTION: State of Wisconsin NursingAssistant Certification is required, otherwise must be currentlyenrolled in a nursing program and able to provide documentation from anaccredited school for professional nurses indicating successfulcompletion of the basic nursing course which encompass all of thecriteria noted by the State of Wisconsin administrative code and aminimum experience of one acute care nursing medical/surgical clinicalrotation. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for theHealthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is requiredwithin 90 days of hire.
