Associate Attorney

Description We are seeking a dedicated Associate Attorney to join our civil defense litigation team in Clayton, Missouri. This position provides the opportunity to gain hands-on trial experience, work closely with experienced team members, and contribute to the growth of the firmu2019s practice. Responsibilities: u2022 Handle civil litigation cases from initial stages through trial and appeal, including personal injury, property damage, premises liability, and transportation claims. u2022 Draft legal documents such as motions, pleadings, and briefs to support case strategies. u2022 Oversee discovery processes, including conducting and defending depositions. u2022 Represent clients in court proceedings and assist with trial preparation and strategy. u2022 Collaborate directly with clients, insurance carriers, and senior attorneys to ensure effective case management. u2022 Participate in building and expanding the firm's presence while maintaining high standards of advocacy. u2022 Manage multiple cases while meeting billable expectations in a hybrid work model. u2022 Provide thoughtful and strategic counsel to clients to achieve favorable outcomes. u2022 Stay up-to-date on relevant legal developments to enhance case strategies. Requirements u2022 Possess 1u20133 years of civil litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense. u2022 Hold a valid Missouri law license; an Illinois license is preferred. u2022 Demonstrate strong legal writing and analytical abilities. u2022 Exhibit an entrepreneurial mindset with a desire to grow a local practice. u2022 Value mentorship, high-quality advocacy, and flexible work arrangements. u2022 Show proficiency in conducting depositions and drafting legal motions. u2022 Display effective communication skills to engage with clients and legal teams. u2022 Maintain a commitment to continuous growth and development.
