Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our client's team in Omaha, Nebraska. This role requires a highly organized individual who excels at managing financial records, preparing tax returns, and supporting general accounting operations. You will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy of financial data and compliance with regulations while contributing to the success of our advertising industry operations. Responsibilities: u2022 Prepare and file corporate tax returns, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations. u2022 Manage sales tax calculations and submissions in a timely and accurate manner. u2022 Record journal entries and maintain the integrity of the general ledger. u2022 Reconcile accounts and analyze financial data to provide accurate reporting. u2022 Assist in month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring all financial statements are completed on time. u2022 Collaborate with internal teams to provide support for audits and resolve accounting discrepancies. u2022 Monitor and update financial records to ensure consistency and accuracy. u2022 Conduct periodic reviews of accounting systems and processes to identify areas for improvement. u2022 Develop and maintain financial reports to support decision-making across departments. u2022 Ensure the confidentiality and security of financial information and records. Requirements u2022 Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business u2022 A minimum of 3 years of experience in corporate accounting or a similar role. u2022 Strong knowledge of corporate tax regulations and sales tax processes. u2022 Proficiency in managing journal entries and maintaining general ledger systems. u2022 Familiarity with accounting software and tools; experience with NetSuite or Salesforce is a plus. u2022 Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. u2022 Ability to analyze financial data and provide actionable insights. u2022 Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with teams. u2022 Capability to handle sensitive financial information with discretion and professionalism.
