The Opportunity: The Sr. Accounts Payable Lead Analyst is a lead position supporting the AP Coordinators in managing AP for the recycle division. This person also supports the AP Manager in process improvement and automation projects and serves as backup to the AP Manager. Experience in Alteryx and Power Bi or other similar automation programs are required for this role. Automation process improvement expertise is preferred as the role is an analytically oriented position. The Sr. Analyst will be able to help improve how we communicate from a customer service perspective with both internal customers and external vendors to keep fiber cost at a minimum. This person has extensive exposure to multiple areas of our business and the role is an excellent career opportunity for someone who would like to impact our AP organization and grow with Smurfit Westrock. How will you impact Smurfit WestRock: Acts as the primary lead to the AP manager and serves as the primary point of contact for accounts payable when manager is not available. Leverage accounts payable subject matter expertise, strong data analytics, and use of automation platforms to lead and support improvement initiatives of divisional AP operations. Provide guidance to junior staff and function as the primary lead to the AP manager including; coaching junior staff for development of AP processes, ERP software utilization, adherence to policies, and daily communications ensuring consistent understanding of needs. Provide accurate and timely accounts payable support to external vendors and internal operating facilities by diagnosing issues, implementing solutions, and ensuring effective communications. Assist with the release of payments, including checks, wire transfers and ACH payments. Support the development, implementation and maintenance of systems, procedures and policies, including accounts payable functions and standards to ensure adherence to company guidelines. Assist management, procurement, audit, treasury, and tax with routine and ad hoc information needs. Lead and support other special projects as needed. What you need to succeed: Bacheloru2019s degree in accounting, finance, or related field. Minimum of 5 yearsu2019 Accounts Payable and Customer Service experience. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). Strong working knowledge of ERP systems such as JDE and SAP. Skilled in data analytics and automation platforms (Power BI, Alteryx, etc.) for building analytical solutions, automation, and data visualizations. Effective process simplification and process improvement skills. Must be a strong collaborator with other departments, leaders, and stakeholders, and be able to operate independently. Must have strong organization skills, ability to multi-task and ability to effectively communicate using written and oral skills. Display a sense of urgency and ability to work in a fast paced, time-sensitive environment.
