About the Role: Support Loan Officer by performing clerical duties, to include verifying, compiling and completing mortgage loan application information, in addition to customer service functions. Accountabilities include production, administration, marketing, and customer service. + Responsible for setting up and processing documents for loan package completion to meet lending specifications. Enter loan applicant data into Home Lending system software. Review and monitor loan documents for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to approval conditions. + Responsible for monitoring existing loans to ensure complete conformity with terms. Follows up with customers to obtain all necessary information and clarification on financial analysis materials and resources. Order customer credit reports as well as pricing and locking loans as requested by the Loan Officer. + Oversees Loan Officer pipeline schedules and deadline times on all loans. Prepare pipeline and closed loan summary reports. Update client database information. + Responsible for compliance with all Federal, State and local consumer protection laws governing loan origination including the SAFE Act, the Truth in Lending Act (TILA), their implementing regulations (Regulations G and Z), and SAFE Act registration and renewal as defined by the Bank. Keeps up to date on all required training. + Responsible for resolving a variety of customer problems/issues regarding bank products and services. + Facilitate and maintain communication between Loan Officer, clients, branch staff, and outside vendors, as well as real estate, insurance, and closing agents. Provide customer service, administrative support and inter/intra office communication support for the department. + Demonstrates compliance with all bank regulations for assigned job function and applies to designated job responsibilities u2013 knowledge may be gained through coursework and on-the-job training. Keeps up to date on regulation changes. + Follows all Bank policies and procedures, compliance regulations, and completes all required annual or job-specific training. + Maintain a working knowledge of Bank's written policies and procedures regarding Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security and other regulations as applicable to this job description. + May be asked to coach, mentor, or train others and teach coursework as subject matter expert. + Actively learns, demonstrates, and fosters the Columbia corporate culture in all actions and words. + Takes personal initiative and is a positive example for others to emulate. + Embraces our vision to become u201cBusiness Bank of Choiceu201d + May perform other duties as assigned. About You: + H.S. Diploma/GED (preferred) + Bachelor's Degree (preferred) + 2-4 years u2014 of Administrative/clerical, Retail Banking or Mortgage experience. (Required) + A background and/or experience with Encompass software preferred. + Strong knowledge of Home Lending department/function, documentation, and processes, plus proficiency in preparing related reports and documents preferred. + Possess strong customer service and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with individuals and groups across the company to manage internal and external customer relationships. Strong verbal and written communication skills. + Demonstrate a high level of organization, attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness, with the ability to multi-task. + Ability to complete work in a timely manner, consistently meeting strict deadlines, and perform in a high production environment. + Possess strong administrative and organizational skills. + Intermediate knowledge of personal computer and related software packages, including MS Office Word, Excel, and Outlook, and other business machines. + Must be registered as a MLO as per the S.A.F.E. Act requirements. + This position requires you to act as a Bank MLO, which is defined as an individual authorized by the Bank to take mortgage loan applications, offer a mortgage, arrange a mortgage, assist a consumer in obtaining or applying to obtain a mortgage, negotiate a mortgage, otherwise obtain or make a mortgage for another person, represent to the public (through advertising or other means of communication) that such person can or will perform any of these activities, or refer a consumer to a loan originator (Note: Except those employees of the Bank who do not discuss particular credit terms available and do not refer the consumer, based on the employeeu2019s assessment of the consumeru2019s financial characteristics to a particular Bank MLO) for compensation or gain. All MLOs will be required to register as an MLO complying with the SAFE Act requirements. + This position is authorized to act as a Bank Closed-End MLO, which is defined as any position designated to perform the activities of a Bank MLO for closed-end transactions, and thus subject to specific Truth-in-Lending Act and Regulation Z Loan Originator. The pay range for this role is $20.00 to $30.00. The pay rate for the selected candidate is dependent upon a variety of non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, education, and geographic location. The role may be eligible for performance-based incentive compensation, and those details will be provided during the recruitment process.
