Summary The Bone Marrow Transplant (MTU) Director is responsible for the daily administrative and clinical operations of the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit Section at the Puget Sound VA Healthcare System and reports directly to the Hospital and Specialty Medicine Care Line Director. Preferred Experience: Significant experience in allogeneic transplantation including patient and donor selection, identification of regimens as well as management of acute and chronic GVHD and transplant infection. Responsibilities The Bone Marrow Transplant (MTU) Director will work in the following units: MTU Inpatient wards and MTU Outpatient and other Subspecialty Clinic areas. The teaching program is affiliated with the University Of Washington School of Medicine, and a faculty appointment commensurate with training and experience will also be considered. Duties include but are not limited to: Admit, evaluate, diagnosis, provide treatment or consultative services to patients presenting with illness and disorders of the blood, blood forming tissues and malignant disorders. Perform specialty procedures as delineated in their clinical privileges. Take part in continuing medical education (as defined by licensure), and quality assurance activities. Supervision, training, and teaching of the University of Washington Hematology/Oncology fellows and students who are assigned to the VA. Preferred Experience: Significant experience in allogeneic transplantation including patient and donor selection, identification of regimens as well as management of acute and chronic GVHD and transplant infection.
