Details + Department: Critical Care Unit / PODS + Schedule: Full-time Night Shift, 36 Hours/Week + Hospital: Saint Thomas West + Location: Nashville, TN + Sign-on Bonus Available Our 58 bed Critical Care Unit (PODS) provides the highest level of care for the sickest patients in our area with a variety of diagnoses. Our major service lines include cardiothoracic surgery, neurology and neurosurgery. Our Critical Care Nurses care for 1-2 patients at a time. Your recruiter will provide the most up-to-date details during the hiring process._ Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization. + Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate. + Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. + Note and carry out physician and nursing orders. + Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team. + Assess and coordinate discharge planning needs with patient, family, and members of the healthcare team. + Assess the physical and psychological status of patients, provide interventions/treatments and evaluate effectiveness of care to achieve desired patient outcomes. + Evaluate learning needs of patient and family and provides age-specific and culturally appropriate education. All other duties as assigned. Requirements Licensure / Certification / Registration: + BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. + Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Nursing OR current home state license for multi-state license recognition
