Job DutiesDescription:Nexus Family Healing is looking to hire a Mental Health Therapist to join our newest youth crisis and stabilization center in Hennepin CountyThis new youth crisis and stabilization center is a 13-bed, short-term residential service is for Hennepin County youth with complex mental and behavioral health issues looking for appropriate care. The service will help to reduce the number of youth who are stuck in inappropriate care settings such as emergency rooms, police stations, juvenile detention or unstable home situations and provide treatment and therapeutic supports while triage, assessment, and transition planning take place with families.At Nexus Family Healing, we embrace diversity, promote equity, and foster inclusion. Therapist will provide clinical insight and work from a trauma informed lens to enhance the milieu and programming. Engage with families through family therapy and treatment planning. Collaborate with the community and providers related to the youthu2019s progress and discharge planning.Primary responsibilities:Trauma Informed Caretu2022 Helps establish and maintain a positive treatment culture & environmenttu2022 Works with youth & family to develop a Nexus Individual and Family Guidance Plantu2022 Active involvement with Family Collaborative Intake meetingstu2022 Completes Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths (CANS) functional assessment in accordance to TCOM (collaborative) principalstu2022 Through the collaborative effort with family, youth, and providers, develop and monitor the individual treatment planstu2022 Provide individualized, youth-focused, strength and evidenced-based family and individual therapy models to youth and families. Examples: Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitization (TF-CBT) and Reprocessing (EMDR)Milieu Coordinationtu2022 Develop and facilitate milieu and treatment groups that are trauma informed, educational, and treatment focusedtu2022 Participate in all youth related treatment team meetings, using family centered language and youth driven principalstu2022 Serve as a clinical treatment team leader to YCP's. This includes but is not limited to modeling and coaching staff on rapport building with clients, trauma-informed practices, and de-escalation techniques on the treatment milieu as neededtu2022 Be available on-call for consultation/treatment direction and/or decisions when appropriatetu2022 Assess readiness for discharge in conjunction with the treatment teamCommunity Caretu2022 Coordinate/communicate aftercare needs of the client with family and all necessary social service and community providers to ensure a smooth transitiontu2022 Communicate with the treatment team to include all desired and necessary family members, educational, legal, community, and social service providers (as well as all-natural supports that the youth and family identify) to gather all necessary information to inform and support the treatment processtu2022 Ensures that all required client reports, records, and all documentation are produced accurately and maintained in a consistent, timely, and professional manner according to policy and regulated statutestu2022 Educate and facilitate trainings for staff on trauma informed practices, clinical diagnosis treatment processes, and other clinically relevant training materialtu2022 Participate in team meetings, program clinical team meetings, therapy clinical supervision sessions, and in-service as requiredtu2022 Ensure confidentiality regarding mental health, medical issues, background treatment and comply with all HIPAA related requirementstu2022 Remains current on all company policies, assigned trainings and/or certification requirementsRequirements:Required Education and Licensure:tu2022 Masteru2019s degree in one of the behavioral sciences, human services, social work, marriage & family therapy, psychology, counseling, or clinically related fieldstu2022 If currently unlicensed, must be on track to complete licensure for a specific, related discipline.tu2022 And/or currently holds a provisional/intermediary license for a specific track (i.e. LGSW, LMSW, LAMFT or LPC)tu2022 Some experience working in a residential or intensive inpatient or outpatient setting requiredtu2022 Valid driveru2019s license required.
