Overview POWER's mission is to help women reclaim their lives from addiction and related emotional health issues and improve the well-being of future generations. We are an agency committed to providing quality gender-responsive, trauma-informed treatment and recovery supportive services to women with substance use and co-occurring disorders. Summary POWER is establishing a Recovery Support Specialist Casual Status Resource Pool to provide flexible support across our client programs. Resource Pool team members are casual status and play a crucial role in ensuring continuity of services by filling schedule gaps, covering staff absences, and supporting program operations during highu2011need periods. T he Recovery Support Specialist, works as a member of the Treatment Team, provides recovery supportive services and on-site supervision for the POWER clients for all shifts, and is responsible for maintaining a therapeutic and safe environment that reflects POWERu2019s mission to be gender-responsive and trauma-informed. What We Are Looking For We are seeking dependable, missionu2011driven individuals who can be available on short notice, communicate promptly when shifts become available, and step in confidently to support the needs of clients and the organization. This role is ideal for candidates who are highly reliable and thrive in a dynamic changing environment and value flexibility.u00a0 Essential Duties & Responsibilities + As a member of the treatment team, using a strength-based and trauma-informed approach, works collaboratively with the clients and other treatment team members (internal and external) to help support clients in their treatment and recovery. + Functions autonomously and uses appropriate judgment in problem solving of day-to-day, as well as crisis situations, utilizing on-call clinical staff or supervisory support when appropriate. + Facilitates and helps coordinate daily routine activities at POWER House (PH) during the course of the assigned shift in a way that provides consistency and support to clients to help them succeed.u00a0 This would include being knowledgeable of the daily schedule and being prepared to assist any external providers/volunteers providing groups/activities for the residents. + Assists PH clients to understand and comply with PH expectations and assignments using a collaborative and strength-based approach. + Provides verbal change of shift report to oncoming staff that includes new admissions, discharges, medication issues, and other relevant information to ensure continuity of care. + Maintains daily written documentation of each clientu2019s activities, attitude, behavior and progress in Shift Log and individual chart, if needed; and consistently reads log. Uses email communications as needed. + Oversees and accurately records client self-administration of medication per policy. Communicates medication issues in a timely and effective manner to the treatment team. + Monitors residentsu2019 daily chores and works collaboratively with residents to strengthen their skills and ensure proper housekeeping standards are met. + Conducts and records routine room and whole house inspections at least once per shift and addresses issues as needed. + Provides transportation for residents to outside AA/NA meetings, doctor appointments, DPA office visits and other appointments as needed. + Conducts random and as needed drug testing on clients per policy. + Completes all documentation requirements. + Complies with POWER policies, state, county and federal regulations and/or other applicable regulatory body standards.u00a0 Minimumu00a0Requirements of theu00a0Roleu00a0 + High school diploma or GED and one year experience working with addicted women.u00a0 + 1- 2u00a0years' experienceu00a0in a Recovery Support Specialist Role.u00a0 + Valid PA Driveru2019s license and 5 years legal driving experienceu00a0 Proof of car insurance and ability and clean motor vehicle record.u00a0 + Act 33, Actu00a034u00a0and Act 73 clearancesu00a0requiredu00a0 + Proficient IT user and ability to navigate Office 365 including Outlook, Word, and Excel. Experience with Electronic Medical Records andu00a0proficiencyu00a0to learn and navigate POWER's EMR.u00a0 + Certified Addiction Counselor and/or Certified Recovery Specialist preferredu00a0 u00a0 Skillsu00a0and Competenciesu00a0 + Experienceu00a0withu00a0women-centered treatment or with gender-responsive care preferred.u00a0 + Effective interpersonal and engagement skills.u00a0 + Strong Customer Serviceu00a0and communication skillsu00a0 + Strong organizational and time-management skills.u00a0 + Knowledgeu00a0of recovery support systems and 12-Step programs preferred.u00a0u00a0 + Personal recovery experienceu00a0is notu00a0required;u00a0however,u00a0personal lived experience candidates must have au00a0minimum ofu00a03u00a0years of personal recoveryu00a0to be considered.u00a0 + Self-directed and flexible to meetu00a0operationalu00a0needs and abilityu00a0to manage multiple tasks.u00a0 + Understand and support a trauma informed system of care.u00a0 + Model and support clients and staff in health and wellness activitiesu00a0using healthy coping skills.u00a0 + Support organizationu2019s mission with a sensitivity of cultural diversity and workplaceu00a0belonging.u00a0 Key Expectation and Important Details:u00a0 + Candidates will be available to fill open shifts on an asu2011needed basis, including lastu2011minute schedule holes. + This position will be eligible for a SET premium rate of pay. + Candidates will provide coverage for regular staff vacations, planned absences, and unexpected staffing needs. + Maintain open and timely communication with POWERu2019s scheduling team regarding availability and shift acceptance. + Work a minimum number of shifts per scheduling period (determined by program requirements). + Meet offu2011shift expectations, which may include evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays. Working Conditionsu00a0 + Working in POWERu2019s various programs at the Swissvale, PA campus - fully on site.u00a0 + Occasionalu00a0driving the POWER agency van to transport clients.
