After School Camp Counselor

JOB REQUIREMENTS: The After-School Camp Counselor member is responsiblefor supporting participants with daily routines, personal care, academicassistance, and recreational activities in a safe, inclusive, andnurturing environment. This is a new program, so the hours may vary butwe are anticipating around 21 hours per week. Work schedule will beMonday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM andWednesday from 1:00 PM - 6:00 PM. The work schedule will followWauwatosa's school district calendar and working at Wauwatosa West HighSchool. ESSENTIAL DUTIES (FUNCTIONS) include the following: Interactrespectfully and appropriately with participants, honoring individualpreferences. Provide support with activities of daily living (ADLs),including toileting, ambulating, feeding, and hygiene. Assistparticipants with academic tasks and homework as needed. Facilitatestructured daily activities such as large motor play, sensoryactivities, and enrichment programming. Ensure safety and well-being ofparticipants by monitoring activities, practicing infection control, andfollow emergency procedures. Support and encourage participantindependence and social interaction. Implement behavior supportstrategies in line with established behavior plans. Provide snacks andassist with feeding activities, including specialized feeding needs.Maintain clean and organized program areas and disinfect materials andequipment regularly. Use assistive equipment properly and safely. Serveas a positive role model, promoting inclusion and plete required documentation such as attendance and activity logs.Reports suspected abuse, neglect and exploitation of studentsimmediately per program and agency policies and procedures.
