TheCompany's primary focus is to develop distributedpower generators that can operate on various fuelsources to future-proof against an ever-changingenergy economy.Job PurposeThe Technician, Electrical supports the research, development, and production of advanced generator technologies by assembling, testing, and troubleshooting electrical systems and sub-systems in an R&D lab environment. This role partners closely with engineering and cross-functional teams to translate electrical designs into reliable, safe, and manufacturable hardware, while maintaining high standards for quality, documentation, and workplace safety. The technician plays a key role in improving build efficiency, test effectiveness, and overall system performance as technologies transition from development to production.Duties and ResponsibilitiesOwn the assembly of electrical systems for R&D and production, including electrical panels, cable and wire harnesses, and test fixturesInterpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings for implementation on R&D and production hardwareAssemble high- and low-voltage cabling, panels, and fixtures required for R&D and production systemsAssist with and provide feedback on component placement to improve build efficiency and accessibilitySupport troubleshooting of electrical issues during system integration and testingPerform validation testing and compile results in accordance with established test proceduresProvide feedback on test procedures to improve efficiency, coverage, and effectivenessCollaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, and other techniciansProvide input on manufacturability, serviceability, and safety of electrical designsMaintain clear, accurate documentation of build processes, test results, and design modificationsEnsure work complies with internal safety standards, industry regulations, and quality requirementsMaintain lab tools, equipment, and test fixtures in proper working conditionEnsure a clean, safe, and organized lab environment in accordance with safety protocolsIdentify and implement opportunities for process improvements, efficiency gains, and quality enhancementsQualificationsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Qualifications include:Education, Experience and Certifications5+ years of hands-on experience in electrical assembly, prototyping, or testing in an R&D, manufacturing, or industrial environmentFamiliarity with IPC/WHMA-A-620 (Acceptability of Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies) preferredFamiliarity with OSHA safety requirements preferredFamiliarity with NFPA 70E electrical safety standards preferredForklift and/or overhead crane operation experience preferredSkills and AbilitiesProficiency in wiring, soldering, crimping, and wire harness assemblyExperience assembling and troubleshooting custom panels, control boxes, and electrical enclosuresStrong ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical prints, and technical drawingsAbility to safely work around and take ownership of safety in low- and high-voltage AC/DC systems (up to 480V or higher)Experience using electrical test equipment, including multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, and signal generatorsFamiliarity with PLCs, power electronics, relays, and industrial control componentsBasic understanding of grounding practices, and electrical noise mitigationExperience working with AC/DC power systems, generators, inverters, or similar electrical power equipment preferredBasic experience with data logging and test doc
