About the role As a Software Engineer - SRE, you will make an impact by driving platform reliability, performance, and resilience across complex, distributed, and cloud-native systems. Your work will directly reduce incident impact, accelerate root cause analysis, and enable proactive operations through advanced telemetry and AI-driven insights. By embedding observability into engineering workflows, you will help teams move from reactive monitoring to intelligent, data-driven reliability practices. You will be a valued member of the Cloud Infrastructure and Security team and work collaboratively with the Senior Manager. In this role, you will: u2022 Design and implement observability strategies across distributed systems and cloud-native environments u2022 Deploy, operate, and maintain enterprise observability platforms, with deep focus on Splunk and Dynatrace u2022 Develop and tune automated alerting systems, including AI/ML-based anomaly detection u2022 Build dashboards and visualizations delivering real-time insights into system health and performance u2022 Implement distributed tracing and centralized log aggregation to support root cause analysis and performance optimization u2022 Integrate observability capabilities into CI/CD pipelines in partnership with DevOps and SRE teams u2022 Analyze telemetry data (metrics, logs, traces) to optimize performance, availability, and scalability u2022 Drive proactive incident detection and resolution through telemetry and AI-assisted analysis u2022 Support security, compliance, and operational monitoring through observability tooling u2022 Maintain a minimum of 90% weekly usage of AI tools such as GitHub Copilot, Microsoft 365 Copilot, and other GenAI platforms approved by the enterprise. u2022 Stay current with evolving AI capabilities and features, and apply them to improve delivery quality and velocity. What you need to have to be considered: u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field u2022 5+ years of hands-on experience with Splunk and Dynatrace in enterprise or large-scale environments u2022 5+ years of experience in observability, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering u2022 Strong understanding of distributed systems, microservices, and telemetry data (metrics, logs, traces) u2022 Proficiency with observability and monitoring tools including Dynatrace, Splunk, Glassbox, Datadog, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry u2022 Experience with at least one programming language (Go, Python, or Java) u2022 Hands-on experience using enterprise-approved AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Microsoft 365 Copilot) to support development and operational workflows u2022 Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) These will help you stand out: u2022 Experience applying AI/ML-based anomaly detection or predictive analytics within observability platforms u2022 Exposure to AIOps or intelligent alerting solutions u2022 Advanced dashboarding and visualization for executive or business stakeholders u2022 Experience integrating observability with security and compliance monitoring u2022 Prior work in highly regulated or large-scale production environments We're excited to meet people who share our mission and can make an impact in a variety of ways. Salary and Other Compensation: Applications will be accepted until February 11, 2026 The annual salary for this position is between $114,000 - $133,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizantu2019s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizantu2019s applicable plans.
