Will develop and execute strategies within a lean enterprise environment concentrating on people, organization, process and information technology.The Group Materials Manager role is responsible for the material management in collaboration with the Aerospace divisions. Position will report to the VP of Supply Chain. Work with suppliers, business units, procurement, planners, I/T and other appropriate resources to strategically plan and coordinate the flow of materials and information from customers through order fulfillment. Matrix management responsibilities with business units and support groups for planning, logistics, shipping, receiving and inventory functions.Essential Functions: Manages overall strategic planning practices Implements a lean approach to materials management including material flow and inventory control Completes demand forecasting and supply planning to ensure the availability of all materials and products at minimum cost Ensure PFEP & capacity planning activities to support Group performance Analyzes inventories and develops and executes plans to balance Inventory % of Sales and optimize customer service Collaborates with business partners to optimize customer experience by utilizing buying and reselling strategies and warehouse management Establishes and implements standard re-order and delivery procedures Balances supply with demand through Sales and Operations Planning implementation and execution with the minimum amount of Parker's capacity Utilizes forecasting tools to create effective demand management processes Employs data analysis and information technology to improve division performance Responsible for part data accuracy (item master) Create development plans for materials management team members and ensure talent pipeline is in place for key functionsQualifications: Ten or more years of strategic experience with significant budgetary and business performance impact. Prior management and project team leadership preferred. AEROSPACE EXPERIENCE PREFERRED. Four-year college degree in business, engineering or supply management required. MBA degree and Certificate in Purchasing Management (CPM) or Contracts Management preferred. Demonstrated analytical and technical skills to understand business practices and apply to work practices.
