WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Transmission Line Project Engineer, to be based in our Boise, Idaho office location. We offer a hybrid or remote opportunity within the Boise area. This Opportunity Provides technical leadership and guidance for the planning, design, and delivery of highu2011voltage overhead transmission line projects. Tasks may include research, design, concept development, planning, client interactions, business and proposal development, construction support, and staff mentorship. Supports project development through disciplined engineering practices, coordination across multidisciplinary teams, and adherence to established quality and safety standards. Ensures responsibilities are executed with a level of technical excellence, clarity, and functional performance that meets or exceeds industry expectations. Your Impact The successful candidate will be able to lead, support, and coordinate the following: Project Engineering Leadership u2022 Lead and execute the engineering of transmission projects up to 765kV u2022 Lead and/or support the initial project execution layout to ensure an efficient and effective project plan has been established u2022 Responsible for creating and maintaining a project schedule u2022 Conduct weekly or bi-weekly project meetings to outline upcoming deliverables and tasks with the responsible personnel identified clearly u2022 Coordinate with clients on project status and support project meetings as necessary u2022 Maintain project workflow and thorough communication across multi-disciplinary projects, both internal and external to WSP u2022 Forecast upcoming project requirements to assist in resource planning u2022 Facilitate and adhere to WSPu2019s QA/QC procedures u2022 Participate in industry conferences, both internal and external, to improve professional growth while fostering knowledge transfer to colleagues. u2022 Demonstrate transmission line design expertise pertaining to PLS-CADD, structure staking, foundations, assembly drawings, structure loading, material procurement, construction specifications, construction methods, construction estimates, and construction support u2022 Lead project teams of varying sizes u2022 Travel to client offices/field/vendor facilities, as needed Project Manager (PM) Support u2022 Support the Project Manager with project status reports u2022 Work with PMs to develop scope, schedule, and budget for new projects u2022 Work with PMs to identify out-of-scope items and support work scope variances u2022 Provide weekly or bi-weekly project updates and project forecasting u2022 Lead and/or support the PM with meetings with clients, both in person and remotely u2022 Develop client relationships, allowing WSP the opportunity to position ourselves to win future work Department Support u2022 Support resource forecasting u2022 Support recruitment efforts u2022 Provide business improvement methodologies and procedures. u2022 Support staff performance and technical development with department leadership u2022 Contribute to the business planning efforts. u2022 Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhere to WSPu2019s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures u2022 Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs Who You Are u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in engineering, or closely related discipline (or equivalent experience) u2022 10+ years of relevant post education experience in the transmission engineering field managing projects and leading multi-disciplinary teams u2022 Engineer license required (multi-state preferred) u2022 Professional Engineering (PE) licensure. u2022 Understanding of the NESC, RUS, and/or GO-95 u2022 Strong understanding of transmission line fundamentals and PLS-CADD operation u2022 The candidate must have a strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnel u2022 Experience using the Microsoft Office software suite u2022 Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSPu2019s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies Preferred Qualifications u2022 Field program planning, management, and execution u2022 Subcontractor management u2022 Cost estimating and scheduling u2022 Field experience u2022 MBA degree from an accredited university u2022 Involvement in technical societies (IEEE, CIGRE, ASCEu2026) u2022 Experience using ArcGIS, AutoCAD/MicroStation, Foundation Design Software (FAD Tools, SHAFT, LPILE) u2022 POLE and TOWER experience #LI-DC3 About WSP WSP USA is the U.S. operating company of WSP, one of the world's leading engineering and professional services firms.
