Maintenance Technician - Decatur, IL Position Summary: The primary focus of the role is to ensure the safe and efficient operation of HVAC/R systems and kitchen equipment. The technician will: Performpreventive maintenanceandrepairson HVAC/R and kitchen equipment in the Decatur area, with occasional support for Erlanger, KY, and Chicago, IL. Travel will be about once a quarter. Assist in theinstallationof systems for new construction, remodels, and retrofits. Physical Requirements: The role requires physical endurance and adaptability: Ability tostand,walk, andclimb ladders or stairs. Performheavy liftingas needed. Work inadverse weather conditions, such as extreme heat, cold, or inclement weather. Qualifications: Licenses/Certifications: Must possess avalid driver’s licenseand be able to operate a motor vehicle in a work environment. Experience: At leastfive years of experiencein HVAC/R systems and maintenance. Possess Refrigeration Certification Critical/Essential Job Functions: The role involves a wide range of technical tasks and responsibilities, including but not limited to: HVAC/R Systems: Diagnose and repair HVAC/R systems usingBuilding Automation Software. Install and upgrade HVAC/R systems as part of construction or retrofit projects. Troubleshoot and repair HVAC components, such as pumps, motors, boilers, chillers, heat pumps, and cooling towers. Kitchen Equipment: Repair and install kitchen appliances and equipment. Preventive Maintenance: Perform maintenance tasks such as replacing filters and belts, cleaning, and testing equipment. Field Service: Troubleshoot, repair, and replace equipment in the field. Maintain accurate records ofrefrigerant usage. Plumbing and Ductwork: Perform basic plumbing repairs and installations (e.g., domestic water, refrigeration). Construct and installductwork. General Responsibilities: Be available foron-call shiftsduring evenings and weekends. Perform additional tasks such assnow removaland operating aforkliftas needed. Technical and Knowledge Proficiencies: The candidate must have expertise in: Electricity and electrical circuits. Thermodynamic propertiesof refrigerants and refrigeration systems.
