As a Lead Cable Technician, you will oversee the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network cabling infrastructure within data center environments. In this role, you will guide and support a team of technicians, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards. You will collaborate with stakeholders, interpret technical documentation, and maintain compliance with industry best practices. What You will Do: + Installation/decommissioning of network and cabling infrastructure in a Data Center environment. + Deliver sustainable and repeatable solutions and processes, always with an eye on improvement. + Provide structured feedback on project progress to Stakeholders. + Exhibit quality workmanship on all work and maintain Data Center cleanliness. + Follow all production, safety and quality standards, codes, and industry best practices. + Collaborate with various Stakeholders to remove project obstacles. + Reading and comprehending blueprints and building documentation/redline work. + Broad understanding of Data Center infrastructure technologies. What You will Need: + Knowledge and use of basic telecom hand tools. + Must be capable of leading a crew of 1-5 technicians. + Must understand customer service, perform job walks and communicate with customer for job requirements. + Accept responsibility of outcome of work performed by him/her and/or by employee that directly report to him/her. + Clear understanding of job safety requirements. + Be able to read and understand job floor plan. + Should be familiar on wiring schemes and wiring testing. + Should be able to pull all types of low voltage cables. + Should understand and be capable in performing field terminations and labeling. + Capable of maintaining orderly paperwork, capable of running midsize to large projects and service jobs. + Possess skill to layout MDF and IDF closets, be able to dress all types of cable and perform all types of terminations and should include basic understanding of fiber equipment, all types of cable and fiber terminations. + Basic understanding of both copper and fiber cable testing and troubleshooting. + Capable of working in Data Centers. + Shall be able to work on analog, DSL, and be able to extend T1 lines. + Be able to patch network equipment. + Reports to Operations Manager and take daily directions from Technician, Technician II, Lead Technicians, Senior Technicians and Advance Senior Technicians. + Track and submit timesheets for crew reporting + Perform job walks + Maintaining paperwork and running service jobs + Copper/Fiber (term, test, splice, troubleshoot) + Responsibly of outcome for work + Track and submit timesheets for crew + Effectively communicate with Foreman, Leads, Tech) + Understanding metrics/SLA's and able to track + Knowledge and understanding of network Handover + Track lessons learned as they occur + Coordinates with QAQC on quality status walks + Knowledge and understanding of Project Close Out + Identify the tech's strengths and weaknesses Why CBRE: When you join CBRE, you become part of the global leader in commercial real estate services and investment that helps businesses and people thrive. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education may be considered. Experience in at least two engineering design cycles including specification, component selection and programming. 2+ years of experience with Programmable Logic Controls (PLC) programs. 2+ years of experience with robotics system components and controls. 2+ years of experience with SCADA systems. Ability to be available and work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays. Ability to independently solve problems and carry out general instructions in standard situations with limited to no oversight. Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more. Ability to guide the exchange of sensitive, complicated, and difficult information, convey performance expectations and handle problems. Preferred Qualifications 2+ years apprenticeship or equivalent experience in Control Systems troubleshooting/ programming. Experience supporting a range of different conveyors and sortation systems. Experience with robotic maintenance. In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. Extensive organizational skills with a strong inquisitive mindset. Advanced math skills. Ability to calculate difficult figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations. The minimum salary for the Union Data Center Lead Technician position is $38.00 per hour and the maximum salary for the Union Data Center Lead Technician position is $43.86 per hour. The compensation offered to a successful candidate will depend on their skills, qualifications, and experience.
