This role supports the organization's financial operations with a focus on payroll administration, accounts payable, and general ledger activities. This position ensures accurate financial processing, compliance with regulatory requirements, and timely reporting. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and experienced in nonprofit or fund accounting environments. This is an onsite hourly non-benefitted position working 25-29 hours per week. Pay range is $30 to $35 per hour, commensurate with education and relative experience.Key ResponsibilitiesPayroll AdministrationManage all payroll functions using Checkwriters, ensuring accurate and timely biweekly payroll processing.Accounts PayableOversee invoice processing, including coding expenses to the appropriate budget categories.Manage employer credit card activity, including coding, reconciliation, and monthly review.Collect W-9 forms from vendors and maintain vendor files.Prepare, verify, and issue annual 1099 forms.General Ledger & Financial SupportPrepare and input monthly journal entries Perform account reconciliations and maintain supporting documentation.Assist in preparing and maintaining annual audit schedules and supporting materials.Administrative & Committee SupportAttend monthly Finance Committee meetings and prepare accurate, organized meeting notes.Provide general support to the Finance team to ensure smooth departmental operations. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.Minimum of 2+ years of general accounting experience.Experience specifically with Checkwriters payroll system.Familiarity with MIP Fund Accounting or similar nonprofit accounting systems.Strong understanding of accounting principles and general ledger processes.High attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and standard office software.
