Job Title: Lead Print Press and Bindery Operator u2013 2nd Shift Job Description The Lead Print Press and Bindery Operator is responsible for producing print and digital products according to specifications and quality standards while acting as the shift lead in production. Responsibilities + Lead and direct shift personnel, assigning tasks and monitoring performance to ensure efficient workflow and quality standards are met. + Engage in personal and regular interaction with operators to communicate production requirements. + Communicate production schedules, project status updates, and project specifications with team members. + Ensure all work areas are properly staffed and used efficiently. + Document all activities that occur on the shift such as job progression, operational problems, or personnel issues. + Provide daily updates to the production supervisor on the status of all work in progress. + Operate equipment for printing, finishing, and shipping within production standards according to quality, rate of speed, and waste. + Understand and follow instructions and specifications communicated on the job ticket. + Complete quality control procedures on each project. + Maintain equipment according to company guidelines. + Complete training in hazardous communications, forklift operations, lockout/tagout, and company safety program. + Communicate ideas, concerns, and problems to leadership. + Assist in resolving mechanical problems. + Act as a proactive initiator of change for improved production methods. Essential Skills + 3-5 years of experience in the printing industry. + Proficiency in bindery, printing press, and printing machine operations. + Experience as a lead operator in the printing industry. + Ability to operate machines efficiently in a printing environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Familiarity with quality control procedures and safety regulations. + Ability to train and guide team members. + Strong communication skills to convey production schedules and status updates. Work Environment This is a full-time 2nd shift position, running Monday through Thursday from 2:30 pm to 1:00 am, with Friday overtime as needed. Overtime is minimal and will be communicated the night before. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Madison, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $47840.00 - $54080.00/yr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your jobclassification and length of employment.
