Skilled Fabrication Machinist needed for an opening with local manufacturerThis is a temporary to hire opening in the West Seneca, NY area that offers a 1st or 2nd shift schedule and $19-$25/hr. (depending on experience)The ideal candidate will have at least 2yrs of experience along with: Overhead crane experience; Mill machine, lathe or drill press experience; And welding experience is a plusThe Fabrication Machinist will perform fabrication, shaping, modification and repair work on a variety of electric rotating and linear equipment, including parts and tools used on machinery and equipment.Responsibilities include: Perform all mechanical measurements as they relate to the rebuilding of motor components and tooling Use basic mathematical capabilities with an understanding of tolerances and bearing fits Read mechanical drawings and specifications to applicable standards Use their knowledge of mechanical instruments, calibration techniques and requirements Operate principles and the use of the following equipment and maintaining them: Milling Machine, Lathe Machine (Set-up and Operation), Drill Press (vertical and radial), Undercutting machines and tools (Automatic and Manual), Balancing Machine, Brush Plating Machine (SIFCO) Understand undercutting requirements, polishing, finishing (i.e.-deburring) as specified in Internal Test Reports Use overhead cranes and material handling equipment Understand documentation requirements of work performed Understand Internal Test Reports Use welding principles and application - Basic manual ARC welding Use Pneumatic, Hydraulic and Air Tools Understand safety concepts and ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System Perform related duties as assignedQualifications/Skills: Must possess a valid General Machinist Certificate of Qualification and a Certificate of Apprenticeship, normally obtained through Grade 12 technical school education or its equivalent (HS Diploma/GED) Must have a mechanical or electrical aptitude Overhead crane experience Any welding experience is a plus Mill machine, lathe or drill press experience Must be able to use calipers, micrometers and read blue prints Two years experience in a related industry Must wear steel toe boots Please note: upon offer of employment, various pre-employment screenings will be required like a background and drug screen This local employer offers paid benefits once hired like dental, health, vision, profit sharing, growth opportunities and referral programs If hired on, must be able to travel to and from Canada for periodic training at company headquarters.Apply today and call Career Connection Network at 716-630-7008 for more information
