JOB REQUIREMENTS: About the Job The Assistant Director, StrategicEmployee Communications plays a critical role in engaging, equipping andactivating employees and leaders across Northwestern Mutual. This roleleads communications that help employees understand priorities, takeaction, and feel connected to our culture, strategy and employeeexperience. With a strong focus on supporting HR priorities, TotalRewards and well-being, the New North project, and campus experiences,this leader partners closely with senior stakeholders to translatecomplex topics into clear, compelling and actionable communications thatdrive awareness, alignment and engagement. This role thrives in a highlycollaborative and fast-moving environment. You'll proactively connectdots, think creatively, and ensure audiences have the right information,at the right time, in the right way. You'll have myriad opportunitiesto flex your leadership, storytelling and project management skillscombined with the ability to directly influence the employee experience.What You'll Do Serve as strategic communications partner to seniorleaders within the People Function and across the enterprise to consulton communication strategy. Lead the development and implementation ofenterprise employee communication strategies, including messaging,channels, content planning, and measurement. Lead projects and workingteams in developing communication initiatives that support communicationgoals and objectives. Translate complex, technical, and sensitive topicsinto simple, actionable communications that reflect an audience-firstmindset. Influence partners on communication best practices and helpevolve experiences and processes behind messages. Developmetrics/measures to evaluate communication effectiveness to continuallyimprove engagement and clarity. Develop and maintain editorialcalendars, toolkits, and resources to ensure consistency and alignmentacross channels. Work to understand business partner communication needsand provide a proactive, rapid response to time-sensitive issues. Workindependently and efficiently with guidance on only the most complexsituations. Provide day-to-day project leadership and may lead, guide ormentor other team members. What You'll Bring to the Role Bachelor'sdegree. 8 or more years of experience in professional communication,organizational communication, public relations, marketing or relatedcommunication field. Demonstrated ability to build trusted partnershipswith senior leaders and influence decision-making at all levels. Strongplanning, prioritization, and project management skills - able to managemultiple fast-moving priorities. Ability to listen to, engage, andinfluence business partners; synthesize and relate complex information;and develop and implement integrated communications strategies, flexingstrong...
