General Summary Responsible for the implementation, maintenance and support of BioBridge Global and its subsidiariesu2019 systems. The Systems Engineer III designs, implements, troubleshoots, analyzes and maintains the IT Infrastructure of internal and external customer environments; including network connectivity and utilization, Windows server administration, virtualization, performance tuning, backup and restore. The Systems Engineer III identifies, researches, and resolves technical problems. The Systems Engineer III will act in conjunction with other ITS team members to design and maintain the systems architecture. Provide world class customer service by capturing and being responsive to the voice of the customer (internal or external, including donors for select positions) through multiple feedback channels in order to resolve issues and drive satisfaction in accordance with the BBG customer engagement, feedback, and complaint processes. It is essential that the incumbent have a valid driver's license and be at least 18 years old with a good driving record to meet organization driving standards. Major Duties and Responsibilities Essential Tasks Perform capacity and resource planning, assess risks with recommendations, design and implement VMware server environments. Plan and execute Infrastructure upgrades and migration projects with existing hardware and/or software. Proactively anticipate, prevent and eliminate data center problems and risks by identifying and creating efficient fixes for any security risks, patches/vulnerabilities, etc. Provide Infrastructure services in all areas needed: storage networking, Operating System, network security, directory services, server virtualization using system backup and restore, system and network monitoring, application installation and configuration Standard system administration duties including server install, System/Application install and patch management, Windows problem determination and resolution, log analysis, etc. Participate in afteru2010hours upgrades, troubleshooting, and/or onu2010call availability as needed. Work closely with a collaborative team, other IT staff, including networking, security, and data center operation teams, to facilitate effective issue resolution. Originate specifications, control documents, verification and validation plans, procedures, reports, and other documentation in support of design and development activities. Perform root cause analysis on complex issues in client environments to identify root causes and identify resolution plans. Review system implementation and performance as to implement system enhancements if needed. Develop standardized deployment documentation where necessary to document build standards. Must be able to mentor and teach other members of ITS as necessary. Perform and assume duties and responsibilities of others as assigned by departmental management. Knowledge of MS 365, internet browsers, LAN/WAN networking, enterprise WiFi, VMWare, storage technologies Expert knowledge of PowerShell Ability to configure, install, and maintain hardware and software for VMWare environment, Windows 10 desktops/laptops, and peripherals. Performs other duties as assigned. Education Requires a high school diploma or general equivalency diploma. Related formal training preferred. Licenses and/or Certifications N/A Experience Requires seven or more years of IT experience. Requires Extensive Active Directory and Virtualization Design skills. Requires experience with VMWare ESXi 6 or greater. Requires experience working with Windows 2003u20102018, VMware, Citrix, SBS Server, various backup technologies (Rubrik). Requires experience of Networking including TCP/IP, Switching, VLANu2019s Routing and wireless. Knowledge Must obtain a working knowledge of regulatory/quality requirements and perform within all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and policies. Must have extensive knowledge of Microsoft operating systems, Microsoft Server 2003 and above, Clustering technologies, Active Directory design, Server Virtualization (VMware) File Virtualization, SAN design, High Availability, SCCM, SCOM. Skills Must possess strong organizational, customer service, and troubleshooting skills. Must have excellent project management skills. Must be capable of operating motor vehicles in all types of weather conditions. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills. Must have strong documentation skills. Abilities Must be able to document work following best practices. Must be able to keep information confidential. Must be neat in appearance and well groomed. Must be professional, detail oriented, selfu2010motivated, innovative, creative, assertive, organized, communicative, and have the ability to work independently. Must have the ability to implement, maintain, repair, and perform systems performance monitoring procedures. Working Environment Works in a wellu2010lighted, air conditioned and heated office. May be exposed to electrical and chemical hazards and other conditions common to an office environment. May be required to work at any time of the day, evening or night during the week or weekend. Ability to use personal motor vehicle for company business required. Occupational Exposure Assignment u2010 Category II Physical Requirements Must be able to drive on behalf of the organization. Will sit, stand, walk, and bend during working hours. Requires manual and finger dexterity and eyeu2010hand coordination. Required to lift and carry relatively light materials.
