Overview Kimley- Horn has an opportunity for a motivated Sr. Low Voltage Technology Design Leader to expand our MEP practice in San Diego, CA and throughout Southern California Responsibilities + Lead and execute designs for Technology systems (Telecommunication rooms, structured Cabling systems, and Pathways infrastructure); Nurse Call, Infant Protection, Electronic Safety and Security Systems (Video Surveillance and Access Control); and Audiovisual Systems. + Develop and evaluate low voltage system Technology System concepts and options to determine best design and engineering solution for each project based upon project scope. + Knowledge of NEC, IEEE, EIA, TIA, industry standards, and other applicable codes related to the design and layout of low voltage and telecommunications systems. + Develop detailed design drawings, develop design narratives and CSI specifications for bidding and construction. + Actively interface and coordinate with external clients, architects, consultants, and construction partners. + Perform construction administration services. + Assist team in achieving project budget and management of resources. + Provide mentorship for other engineers and designers within the organization. Qualifications + Associates in Applied Science in Engineering Technology or similar education. Bacheloru2019s Degree preferred. + 12+ years of experience in design and consulting for low voltage and/or electrical systems. + Candidate with RCDD certification or similar industry certification is preferred. + Candidates with a PE license or ability to obtain a PE license will be considered a plus. + Experience in architectural and engineering work. + Working experience with AutoCAD, Revit, and MS Office Products. + Ability to self-manage throughout the project and work as part of a team. + Proven communication, organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. + Active participation in industry organizations.
