This position involves coordinating activities such as baggage handling, aircraft towing, and servicing aircraft, while adhering to strict safety and operational protocols. You will be pivotal in training and mentoring team members and coordinating with flight crews and other airport personnel to ensure timely aircraft turnarounds. Additionally, this role requires quick decision-making, effective problem-solving, and maintaining high standards of customer service and operational efficiency. RESPONSIBILITIES u00b7 Supervise the ramp team operations, including aircraft loading and unloading u00b7 Coordinate ramp activities to ensure timely turnaround of flights u00b7 Train and mentor ramp team members on operational procedures and safety protocols u00b7 Monitor team compliance with airline and airport regulations u00b7 Conduct pre-shift briefings to discuss daily tasks and safety focus points u00b7 Oversee the proper handling of baggage, cargo, and mail to prevent damage or loss u00b7 Manage communication between the ramp team, flight crew, and ground operations u00b7 Ensure proper use and maintenance of ground support equipment u00b7 Implement and enforce safety measures and hazard prevention on the ramp u00b7 Respond to and manage operational issues and emergencies u00b7 Facilitate efficient teamwork to meet flight schedules and service standards u00b7 Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to ramp team members u00b7 Ensure compliance with all DOT regulations as required and guidelines, including overseeing the safe and legal operation of airport vehicles, equipment, and personnel involved in airside and landside operations u00b7 Conduct regular audits and inspections to verify adherence to DOT standards, including reviewing maintenance records, driver qualifications, and safety procedures, and provide training and updates to staff on changes in DOT regulations as required u00b7 Liaise with other airport departments for coordinated operations u00b7 Maintain accurate records of ramp operations and incidents u00b7 Promote a culture of safety and professionalism within the team u00b7 Exemplify PrimeFlight customer service and safety standards u00b7 Perform any additional duties as assigned by management QUALIFICATIONS u00b7 18 years of age or older u00b7 Eligible to work in the United States u00b7 Must have a valid state-issued driveru2019s license with an acceptable driving record u00b7 Communicate effectively in English (reading, writing, speaking) u00b7 Minimum of 2 years of experience in ramp operations or a related aviation field u00b7 Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role u00b7 Strong knowledge of ramp safety and operational procedures u00b7 Ability to access and interpret information in print and electronically, including the use of electronic devices including IPads/Tablets, Computers, and Mobile Devices u00b7 Effectively communicate with colleagues and clients, both in-person and through electronic means u00b7 Pass a background check and drug screen u00b7 Eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable) u00b7 Airlines are 24/7, so we need our team members to be flexible to work various shifts including nights, weekends and holidays To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential requirement satisfactorily.
