Job Descriptionu00a0GeoEngineers, Inc.Staff Geotechnical EngineersSpokane, Washingtonu00a0Duties:u00a0 Performs geotechnical engineering activities.u00a0 Leads or coordinates the observation of field explorations and construction projects, documenting that work performed is consistent with project plans and specifications as well as in accordance with safety guidelines. Completes detailed field reports and assists with coordination of field exploration programs.u00a0 Assists with training junior technical and technician staff.u00a0 Supports project management tasks such as budget planning, general field report reviews, and proposal development. Manages small projects under the supervision of a certified professional engineer or scientist as required. Gathers field data and field samples for related projects. Coordinates samples for testing.u00a0 Supports the completion of permit applications according to appropriate local, state and federal guidelines.u00a0 Completes engineering analyses and/or calculations within assigned discipline. Develops moderately complex conceptual models under the supervision of a licensed engineer.u00a0 Prepares deliverables such as memos and reports and provides occasional quality assurance/control support. Submits deliverables to the project manager in a timely manner.u00a0u00a0 Assists project team members in making basic design decisions from detailed criteria provided by the senior engineer or project manager. Assists with the generation of technical reports; completes portions of technical reports and generates figures, tables, charts, etc.u00a0 Domestic travel to project sites may be required up to 10% of the time.u00a0Requirements:u00a0 Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree or the foreign equivalent in Civil Engineering or a closely related engineering field and 2 years of experience as an Engineer, Research/Teaching Assistant, Lecturer or in a related geotechnical /civil engineering occupation. Experience must include 6 months using MathCAD, ArcGIS, GeoStudio Suite, SupportIT, Civil 3D, or other software related to the discipline of geotechnical engineering.u00a0 All education, training and experience may be gained concurrently.
