To ensure full consideration for a staff position, please attach a resume to your application so we can gain a complete view of your experiences Peckham Inc. - Youth Treatment Specialist SUMMARY The Youth Treatment Specialist provides direct care, case management, and therapeutic support to court-involved adolescent girls in Peckhamu2019s Footprints residential program. This role is responsible for developing and implementing individualized treatment plans, facilitating evidence-based cognitive behavioral groups, and supporting youth in building pro-social skills, emotional regulation, and positive life outcomes. The Treatment Specialist collaborates closely with courts, schools, families, and interdisciplinary partners to ensure coordinated, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive care. This position maintains accurate case documentation, monitors progress toward treatment goals and responds effectively to crises or behavioral challenges. The role requires strong relationship-building skills, sound clinical judgment, and a commitment to youth rehabilitation, safety, and long-term success. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: + Build and maintain strong, trusting relationships with youth through consistent engagement, active listening, appropriate boundaries, and trauma-informed, strength-based, and culturally responsive practices. + Facilitate evidence-based cognitive behavioral intervention groups that promote emotional regulation, accountability, pro-social decision-making, and reduced recidivism. + Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans based on clinical assessments, court requirements, and youth-specific needs and goals. + Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant case documentation, including treatment plans, progress notes, observation reports, interim updates, and final staffing reports in accordance with CARF standards and organizational policy. + Interpret results of individualized programs to participants and referring counselors via informal/formal staffing + Conduct intake screenings, onboarding assessments, and ongoing evaluations to determine program suitability, treatment progress, and service adjustments. + Write detailed treatment plans, observation notes, interim reports and final staffing reports + Prepare and submit required weekly and monthly progress reports to the referring court and partner agencies. + Supervise residents during daily programming, community outings, and structured activities to ensure safety, engagement, and therapeutic consistency. + Administers onboarding assessments to assess appropriateness for program admission + Provide crisis intervention, de-escalation, and behavioral support as needed, following approved safety protocols and therapeutic best practices. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: + Support program operations through participation in a shared on-call rotation, offering assistance as needed outside of regular work hours. + Ensure resident files are complete, accurate, timely, and compliant with organizational, licensing, and accreditation standards. + Adhere to all licensing, regulatory, and organizational requirements, and model best practices while supporting team adherence to policies and procedures. + Maintain consistent, professional communication and collaboration with court personnel, school district partners, families, and other stakeholders to support youth success and continuity of care. + Demonstrate a collaborative, team-oriented approach in all projects and program initiatives. + Maintain a safe and clean work environment + Promote Peckhamu2019s vision, value, culture, and commitment to excellent customer services to all team members, staff, customers and stakeholders. + Maintain a safe and clean work environment. + Other related duties as assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job has no supervisory responsibilities. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS + Bachelors Degree in a Human Behavioral Science field or other related field. + 6 months or more experience working in residential care or related human services work. + Must maintain an unrestricted driveru2019s license and possess a clear driving record (in accordance with company insurance policy) to drive the company vehicle. + The ability to obtain and maintain CPR and First Aid certification upon hire, in accordance with program and organizational requirements. + Must pass federal and state background checks. + Consistent with the Michigan Elliott-Larsen Civil Rights Act and federal nondiscrimination laws, the contract requires this role to be filled by a female employee to meet the privacy, safety, and trauma-informed care needs of residents in a girlsu2019 residential setting. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS + Experience working with court-involved youth, at-risk adolescents, or residential treatment populations. + Training or experience in crisis intervention, de-escalation, or behavioral crisis management in youth or human services settings. + Familiarity with treatment planning, case documentation, and regulatory or accreditation standards (e.g., CARF).
