Line Operator

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Adjust dials to regulate flow of current and voltagesupplied to terminals to control plating processes. Inspect coated orplated areas for defects, such as air bubbles or uneven coverage.Observe gauges to ensure that machines are operating properly, makingadjustments or stopping machines when problems occur. Remove objectsfrom solutions at periodic intervals and observe objects to verifyconformance to specifications. Maintain production records. Examinecompleted objects to determine thicknesses of metal deposits, or measurethicknesses by using instruments such as micrometers. Rinse coatedobjects in cleansing liquids and dry them with cloths, centrifugaldriers, or by tumbling in sawdust-filled barrels. Immerse objects to becoated or plated into cleaning solutions, or spray objects withconductive solutions to prepare them for plating. Suspend sticks orpieces of plating metal from anodes, or positive terminals, and immersemetal in plating solutions. Operate hoists to place workpieces ontomachine feed carriages or spindles. Position objects to be plated inframes, or suspend them from positive or negative terminals of powersupplies. Clean and maintain equipment, using water hoses and scrapers.Place plated or coated materials on racks and transfer them to ovens todry for specified periods of time. OTHER EXPERIENCE ANDQUALIFICATIONS: Experience running an anodizing line. Experienceoperating an electric hoist. Able to use a table running windows. Ableto read and write in English.
