Job Title: Machinist II City: Winston Salem Key Job Elements: First Shift Duties and Responsibilities: u2022 Operates various CNC machines as part of the production process to produce parts for the large mining & locomotive industry in accordance with customer specifications, company guidelines and checklists. Perform all duties and responsibilities in compliance with PR safety policies; u2022 Operate CNC machines including horizontal mills, engine lathes, and manual grinders to produce finished machine components; u2022 Use precision gauges and instruments such as micrometers to determine and follow customers specifications; u2022 Maintain specifications by observing, drilling, grooving and cutting, including turning, milling, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes; u2022 Operate overhead cranes and forklifts; u2022 Other duties as assigned; u2022 Perform all duties and responsibilities within time standards allowed. Advanced Duties and Responsibilities: u2022 Maintain specifications by observing, drilling, grooving and cutting, including turning, milling, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes; u2022 Troubleshoot and repair various machines; u2022 Train other employees. Qualifications and Experience: Preferred Skills: u2022 Possess expertise and/or certification in Advanced Machining Techniques; u2022 Hold Certification in Non-Destructive Testing; u2022 Possess high level of machining Aptitude; u2022 Read and interpret blueprints and drawings; u2022 Complete rework as required; u2022 Complete machine setup as required. Essential and Physical Activities Functions: u2022 Strength u2013 Position requires lifting of 50lbs. Requires stamina and strength to work in tight and confined spaces while installing or repair machinery and components; u2022 Motion u2013 Position requires standing majority of the day. Frequent walking, squatting, kneeling and climbing of steps and stairs; u2022 Vision/Hearing Requirements u2013 Position is exposed to high levels of noise and vibration from using tools. Position is exposed to cutting torches and welding operations. The use of proper PPE is required. The Position requires the ability to read QWI and schematics and understand instructions; u2022 Work Environment u2013 Position is located inside a climate-controlled environment.
