Description We are looking for an experienced Controller to join a leading construction organization in Evansville, Indiana. This role involves overseeing accounting operations, driving financial strategy, and ensuring compliance for a business unit generating over $500 million in annual revenue. As a key member of the finance leadership team, you will lead a high-performing accounting group, influence strategic decision-making, and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency. Responsibilities: u2022 Provide strategic leadership for accounting and financial operations across the business unit. u2022 Manage and mentor a high-performing finance team, fostering collaboration and operational excellence. u2022 Oversee the monthly financial close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting. u2022 Prepare detailed financial analyses and performance commentary to support business insights. u2022 Establish and maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with industry standards. u2022 Serve as the primary liaison with external auditors during quarterly and annual audits. u2022 Identify financial risks and develop proactive remediation plans to mitigate audit findings. u2022 Drive process improvement initiatives, focusing on automation and workflow optimization. u2022 Offer executive management actionable financial insights and recommendations to enhance performance. u2022 Lead and contribute to strategic projects and cross-functional initiatives as required. Requirements u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in Accounting or Finance is required. u2022 Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance leadership roles, preferably in the construction industry. u2022 Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with JD Edwards, Hyperion, and Essbase. u2022 Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting and revenue recognition principles. u2022 Proven ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on execution of financial operations. u2022 Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all organizational levels. u2022 Demonstrated ability to thrive in fast-paced environments and manage shifting priorities effectively. u2022 Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills, producing accurate and insightful financial reports.
