This role will perform hands-on trade work, ensure compliance with safety and building codes, and provide guidance to apprentices. Duties and responsibilities u2022 Perform skilled trade work in accordance with industry standards, codes, and company policies. u2022 Read and interpret blueprints, technical diagrams, and schematics. u2022 Inspect electrical components, such as transformers, circuit breakers, and switches, to ensure proper operation. u2022 Install, repair, maintain, and troubleshoot systems, fixtures or equipment relevant to the trade. u2022 Diagnose electrical malfunctions using appropriate testing devices. u2022 Perform preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and extend equipment life. u2022 Inspect completed work to ensure quality, safety, and compliance u2022 Ensure all electrical work complies with applicable codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., NEC, OSHA). u2022 Troubleshoot and repair control systems, lighting systems, and power distribution equipment. u2022 Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and installations. u2022 Follow all safety procedures, wear protective gear, and use lockout/tagout protocols when necessary. u2022 Collaborate with other trade, supervisors, team members and departments to complete projects on schedule. u2022 Train, mentor, and oversee apprentices as needed. Qualifications u2022 High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a formal electrician apprenticeship program. u2022 Valid Journeyman Electrician License in the State of FL. u2022 Proven experience as a Journeyman in the field. u2022 Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and troubleshooting techniques. u2022 Ability to work independently and as part of a team. u2022 Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals. u2022 Proficient in using electrical tools, meters, and testing devices. u2022 Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. u2022 Physical stamina and the ability to work in various environments (confined spaces, heights, outdoors, and in various weather conditions). Working conditions Working conditions may require overtime, weekend, or on-call shifts. Work involves exposure to high voltage, moving machinery, and construction sites. Use of PPE (personal protective equipment) is mandatory. Physical requirements Normal office environment mobility; sitting, walking, bending, stooping, standing, lifting a maximum of 25 pounds (greater than 25 pounds requires a two-person lift), turning, pushing. Normal office dexterity, to include; reaching, handling, grasping, to include typing/keyboard, and phone use.
