Summary The incumbent serves as the Laundry Supervisor and provides leadership, technical supervision, administrative supervision, and management to the Textile Care Section in Environmental Management Service at the Mann-Grandstaff VA Medical Center (VAMC) in Spokane, Washington. Responsibilities Duties include but are not limited to: Responsible for planning, direction and management of personnel assigned to laundry plant programs. Establishes priorities and deadlines within section for accomplishing planned operations. Delegates and assigns work through out the day responding to unique situations. Participates on hiring boards for front line staff selection. Ensures annual performance plans are issued to staff, providing guidance and feedback on performance standards. Conducts corrective counseling promoting positive goals for future action. Facilitates daily team huddles to ensure clear communication and guidance to staff. Assists with developing and maintaining a periodic maintenance plan for facility equipment. Conducts evaluations of equipment and supplies in accordance with management operations plan. Ensures staff have completed competencies and training prior to assignment of work and equipment operations. Participates in program development and revisions of standard operating procedures to include use and care of equipment. Utilizes Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel daily on computer to complete assignments. Manages workload within resource and manpower available. Evaluates resources required to accomplish the proposed work assignments. Ensures continued customer service with internal and external customers following up on requests and complaints. Monitors emails and responds to inquiries for service. Initiates appropriate human resource disciplinary action for personnel. Conducts weekly and monthly inspections of employee work and procedure knowledge. Provides end of shift report to supervisor and management team for clear communication of actions taken and staffing resources. Ensures quality of the linen service provided directly effects the total mission of patient care. Coaches employees on trained standard operating procedures. Evaluates and identifies gaps in performance and assigns training to correct. Conducts annual performance reviews. Monitors and enforces adherence to safety, operations, and professional conduct directives and policies. Ensures correct utilization of workforce including time and attendance considerations to safety and mission completion.
