Reference #: 61922-1APosition SummaryRun lab equipment to generate data for characterizing materials and processes including:Rubber compounding, mixing, milling, calendering, and testingMetal/adhesive preparation for rubber-to-metal bondingAnalytical, environmental, mechanical, and other characterization equipmentProvide hands-on support to new material development, risk reduction, and plant support projects. Responsible for planning and conducting material and process testing using prescribed and non-standard work methods under minimal supervision. u00a0Work closely with Material & Process Engineering Team to plan, define, and carry out experiments in a thorough, scientific manner, and clearly report results.ResponsibilitiesOperate, troubleshoot, and maintain standard and custom test equipment including hydraulically actuated equipment as requested by M&PE staff and other internal customersMaintain accurate and complete records (data/notes, photographs, reports, etc.) for all testing/developmentObserve all safety rules, consistently practice safe working habits, and provide safety guidance to othersObtain information from stakeholders to establish appropriate prioritization for each projectAnalyze data, screen for anomalies, and take appropriate corrective action as neededSeek on-the-job training to become proficient in technical tasks utilizing skills matrixContinuously improve operational safety, quality, and efficiencyCommunicate test results and status clearly and punctuallyUnderstand and minimize sources of test variationEnsure up-to-date calibration of all lab equipmentPerform additional responsibilities as assignedQualificationsRequired:4 years relevant work experience or 2 years and an associate degree in a related technical discipline or relevant 4 year degreeDemonstrated ability to read and interpret written instructions such as test plans, product/tooling drawings, work instructions, operating procedures, specifications, etc.Skilled in operating manufacturing and test equipmentAbility to work in a team environment and to cultivate strong working relationshipsExcellent time management skills and ability to work efficiently in a dynamic environmentAbility to operate department computers and Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, etc.)Excellent communication skills including conveying job status and results verbally and in written formWillingness to learn/use diverse lab equipment including rubber mills, presses, and hydraulic test machinesPreferred:Experience in rubber molding/processing and related materials testingConditions of EmploymentThis position is subject to meeting U.S. export compliance and/or U.S. Government contracting citizenship eligibility requirements.Parker HannifinParker Hannifin is a Fortune 250 global leader in motion and control technologies.
