Makes patient rounds to assess and problem solve patient needs and staff achievements. Assures individualized Interdisciplinary Care Plans are collaboratively developed with each patient and their families and documented per policy. Ensures staff documentation is factual, accurate, timely, and in accordance with quality and legal standards. Enforces all charting policies and procedures and implements action plans to rectify deficiencies. Plans for safe, efficient, therapeutic, and compassionate nursing care. Demonstrates competency in all procedures within Scope of Practice for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Assigns patient care based on patient acuity and personnel skill level, ensuring compliance with hospital standards. Functions within budgetary constraints and collaborates with Nurse Managers to achieve departmental staff goals. Conducts interviews, makes employment decisions, and performs annual employee appraisals based on objective evaluations. Coaches, counsels, and disciplines employees professionally and in a timely manner, documenting sessions and maintaining anecdotal notes. Promotes professional growth and development of staff through experiences, education, and positive feedback. Other duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:• Computer literate [Required]• Excellent leadership and communication [Required]• Nurse leader with a proven track record in driving performance in patient safety, quality outcomes, patient experience, and budget and finance.
