Overview: The I&E- Analyzer Technician will assist in the installation, troubleshooting, diagnosis, preventive maintenance, and repair of industrial equipment and technology focused in the electrical and instrumentation, and anlyzer space.This role work closely with the Work Activity Coordinator, I&E Planner, and Operations team implementing effective actions to ensure reliable operation of the electrical and instrumentation at the facility. It will be vital in keeping the plant and it operation on line for the control of processes and environmental compliance.Minimum Educational and Training:Technical Certificate/Diploma: 1-2-year program focusing on industrial electrical & instrumentation- analyzer, electronics, and control circuits Associate degree: A 2-year Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Instrumentation and/or Electrical Technology or Industrial ElectronicApprenticeship: A 4 to 5 years, on-the job training program combines classroom instruction with field experienceRecommended Certifications and Requirement:NCEER: National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER)Must have a valid TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Card) or be able to secure one within 30 daysPrimary Responsibilities:Will work on instrument/electrical 24VDC, .Will be required to install, inspect, and test new electrical equipment.Perform business management duties such as maintaining records and files, preparing reports, and ordering supplies and equipment.Support field electrical maintenance work and electrical isolation Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) for electrical circuits, Switchgears/Substations Breakers/Contactors, MCC Breakers, and Transformers.Performs high level maintenance and repairs (requiring de-energizing and entry and NFPA 70E certification) of Motor Control Centers and associated equipment such as switch gear, switch rack and buss inspection, motor protection equipment, and Uninterruptable Power Supplies, spects, calibrates, and repairs end devices such as transmitters, switches, fire eyes, hazardous gas detection, level detection, loop tuning, etc.Maintains and repairs instrumentation, such as valve actuators, positioners.Works autonomously at varying times and in diverse weather conditions, at remote field locations; available for callout.Works outside, year-round under various weather conditions.Participate actively in department/plant safety programs. Promote safety rules and regulations as well as environmental compliance.Performs and accurately documents regulatory required inspections.Brings bad actors or repeat problems to the Reliability Team’s attention.Report problems and possible solutions to supervisorWill participate in RCIs as terpreting data and adhering to strict guidelines on documentation when recording data. Technicians must get familiar with all equipment in the plant. A sampling of these devices includes transmitters, switches, analyzers, PH & Conductivity probes, combustion detectors, programmable controllers, proximity devices, level control systems, control valves, equipment & personnel safety systems, paymeter systems, electrical distribution systems, transformers, single phase and three phase motors/motor drives & controls. Within each category are a variety of pneumatic & electronic devicesOversees contractors as needed, providing specialty services (Quality Assurance, Quality Control)Support plant planned or unplanned outages during day or night shifts.Perform other duties as assigned or needed.Stands and walks for extended periods of time.Requires balancing, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, reaching and rapid work pace, etc.Must be willing and able to wear an air-purifying respirator and SCBA.Must be able to lift to 50 lbs.Must be willing and able to work at heights above 25 feet by climbing stairs and vertical ladders.Must be willing and able to work in tight enclosed, or confined spaces.Perform other duties as assigned or needed.Skills/Experience: Ability to read and redline the following: o P&IDs o Motor One lines.o Motor elementary drawings o Control schematics. o Loop drawings o Ladder logic diagrams.Ability to use and interpret results from the following tools: o Pressure gauge. o Manometers o Potentiometers o Pulse and signal generators. o Ammeters, voltmeters, and watt meters o Meggers Troubleshooting motor starters, buckets, and control circuits Racking in/out and troubleshooting circuit breakers. Working knowledge of protection relays is a plus (SEL, Static Trip, ACPro) Ability to troubleshoot control circuits including but not limited to: AutoStart, relays, timers, etc. on 24VDC, 120VAC, and 480VAC.Experience with Bently vibration systems and setting vibration probes.Experience calibration instrumentation including digital, analog, and pneumatic.Able to work in a team environment with Operators/Mechanics/ Engineering/Technical Support and other contracted crafts.Understand and implement basic logic controls, AND gate, OR gate, NOT gate, basic “voting” systems, etc. Fundamental knowledge of electrical principles such as, FLA, V=IR, Phase to Phase testing, Phase to ground testing DCS and PLC experience is a plusExperience with Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) and Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS) is a plus.Experience with Smart Positioners is a plus.Will be working in SAP system on Work Orders to input data and TECO closeout… experience is a plus.Able to work in a team environment with Operators/Mechanics/ Engineering/Technical Support and other contracted crafts.Candidates should demonstrate the willingness to learn the following skills or work with the following analyzersO2 analyzersCombustible detectors.BTU analyzers.Analyzing samples from various sources to provide information on compounds or quantities of compounds present. Using analytical techniques and instrumentation, such as gas and high-performance liquid chromatography, ion Chromatography, ion chromatography, electrochromatography.Relocation is not available with this position.
