The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, training, and internal equity.- Pay Range is the entire compensation range for the positionThe first review of applications will be on2/20/2026.This part-time position with rotating days to include weekends, and bothday and evening hours, is in the Recreation Division of the Parks &Recreation Department. In this position, you will be responsible forsafeguarding all patrons at public swimming pool facilities throughobservation and intervention. The Lifeguard I ensures safety throughrule enforcement and maintenance and sanitation standards. This positioncould be asked to temporarily supervise the facility in the absence ofthe Lifeguard III if they are in the chain of command with experience.Essential Functions:As defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, thisclassification may include any of the following tasks, knowledge,skills, and other characteristics. Work assignments may vary depending on thedepartments need and will be communicated to the applicant or incumbentby the supervisor.- Oversees activities at a public swimming pool which includes rule and behavior enforcement;- Conducts surveillance duties while on stand and intervenes with appropriate water rescues and skills;- Recognizes and responds effectively to emergency situations by activating and participating in the Emergency Action Plan;- Attends and participates in all required staff in-services;- Administers first aid including Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED);- Maintains facility sanitation, cleaning, and pool vacuuming, which includes testing and logging pool water for chemical balance, reporting chemical imbalances and/or safety concerns to the pool supervisor;- Assists with a variety of aquatic programs which can include swim lessons, junior lifeguarding and swim team, etc.;- Provides a welcoming environment for all patrons;- Documents incidents and/or injuries;- May assist in recording daily participation numbers, collecting basic daily revenue, reconciling daily revenue, and making nightly deposits.Minimum Qualifications:Current American Red Cross Lifeguarding certification.OR:Currently taking a Pima County Parks and Recreation American Red CrossLifeguard training course.Qualifying education and experience must be clearly documented in the
