Job posting end date: 06/21/2025 Introduction: We are seeking a Shop Machinist to join our Repair Center team on the 2nd Shift. You will be responsible for operating machines to ensure all parts and products meet quality standards through precise measurements and inspections. The qualified candidate must ensure that all operating procedures are carried out in such a way as to be compliant with Metso specifications, all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) requirements, customer satisfaction, and legal requirements. In this position, you will report to the Repair Production Manager. This position is located in Mesa, AZ and will have little to no travel involved, however, may involve up to 5% of travel. What you'll do: u2022 Work in collaboration with Repair Production Manager and Repair Center Leads to ensure projects are tracked for completion. u2022 Keep Repair Center Lead apprised of assembly status and escalate issues. u2022 Operate and maintain CNC/Manual machines, lathes, mills, and other heavy equipment. u2022 Determine and establish methods and working processes for the most specialized and complex jobs. u2022 Control the quality of all work done and effectively communicate with QA/QC Personnel. u2022 Formulate all working procedures used for optimizing the quality of work and efficiency. Consult with fellow employees, contractors, and consultants to resolve maintenance issues and develop ways to improve equipment utilization and efficiency. u2022 Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications. u2022 Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on machinery. u2022 Perform minor and major repair of projects received at the Repair Center to include all facets of large and small mining machinery. u2022 Maintain equipment to ensure the best reliability and performance. u2022 Completes required work and safety reports. u2022 Perform other tasks as directed. Who you are: u2022 High school diploma or equivalent u2022 Experience as a Machinist in the heavy equipment, manufacturing, or mining industry. u2022 Prior repair experience with mining process equipment would be ideal u2022 Ability to assess situations and problems, ability to detect technical discrepancies. u2022 Observes safety regulations and exhibits a high concern for safety. u2022 Must have knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, use, repair, and maintenance; knowledge of design techniques and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models. u2022 Ability to use precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, pi tapes, scales, etc. proficiently. u2022 Understand the mechanics of precision bearings, bushings, gearing as well as heating and cooling of components for disassembly and assembly of work.
