Job Summary:The Industrial Hygiene Supervisor leads the site’s Industrial Hygiene program and manages a small team of 3-6 IH professionals and technicians. This role ensures effective implementation of Bechtel’s ESH Management System and regulatory compliance (OSHA, NIOSH, EPA) by overseeing exposure assessments, risk evaluations, and control strategies. The Supervisor provides technical leadership, resource planning, and coaching to maintain a safe and healthy work environment across construction and commissioning activities at Port Arthur LNG, including support for extended hours and shift coverage as required.Major Responsibilities: Program Leadership & Oversight Direct and coordinate IH activities, including air and noise monitoring, heat stress evaluations, and hazard assessments. Review work methods, JHAs, and FLHAs to confirm appropriate controls are identified and implemented. Serve as an advocate for first line employees to help them work safely. Team Management Supervise and mentor 3-6 IH staff; assign tasks, monitor performance, and ensure competency development. Provide technical guidance and approve sampling plans, data interpretation, and corrective actions. Risk Assessment & Compliance Conduct IH risk assessments, industrial hygiene monitoring, response to employee concerns, and recommending corrective action to minimize exposure risk to employees and contractors during routine operations. Consult with medical staff on health surveillance for personnel exposed to hazards. Resource & Equipment Management Ensure IH instruments are maintained, calibrated, and available; manage inventory and vendor service coordination. Reporting & Documentation Collect, review, document, and summarize exposure assessment and monitoring data to comply with legal and corporate requirements utilizing industrial hygiene databases. Track corrective actions and program improvements; support audits and lessons learned. Stakeholder Engagement Collaborate with ESH Manager, Construction, and CSU teams to integrate IH controls into work planning. Participate in project safety committees and improvement workshops. Education and Experience Requirements: Requires a Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) related to Industrial Hygiene and 8 -10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience. Required Knowledge and Skills: Advanced IH technical expertise and regulatory knowledge. Leadership and team development skills. Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities. Proficiency in IH sampling, data analysis, and reporting. Bachelor’s degree in IH, Occupational Health, or related field; 5-7 years IH experience with supervisory responsibilities. Preferred certifications: CIH or CSP; HAZWOPER; CAOHC; fit-test operator. Ability to work in industrial environments and cover extended hours or night shifts as needed.
