Registered Dietitian Food Safety and Sanitation Manager JobID: Position Type: Administrative - Child Nutrition/Child Nutrition Site Operations & Food Safety MgrDate Posted: 12/15/Location: ESC - Child Nutrition Program Closing Date: 02/09/Additional Information: Registered Dietitian - Food Safety and Sanitation Manager(Child Nutrition Site Operations & Food Safety Manager)Full-Time 12 monthsDirects Site Supervisors and daily operations for Child Nutrition Programs across assigned schools. Ensures strict compliance with health and safety regulations, leads staff development, and manages dietary accommodations. Additionally, partners with leadership to implement strategic process improvements.Duties and ResponsibilitiesOperations & SupervisionSupervise, train, and evaluate Site Supervisors in functions including meal preparation, food production, inventory, and equipment maintenance.Manage staffing needs, including interviewing, selection, and discipline according to district policies.Visit supervised sites regularly to monitor health, safety, and operational standards.Oversee student field experience and project-based learning for college/technical school students.Safety, Compliance & SanitationEstablish and enforce procedures to ensure sanitary environments in compliance with OSHA, HACCP, and local health codes.Implement USDA emergency and disaster preparedness terpret and apply State, Federal, and Anoka Hennepin rules, regulations, and policies.Demonstrate leadership in creating safe work environments and implementing safety goals.Dietary Accommodations & NutritionServe as the CNP Registered Dietitian responsible for managing student dietary accommodations for the National School Lunch and Breakfast Programs.Act as the liaison between the District and families regarding food allergy management.Maintain allergen databases and utilize menu planning software to document special diet profiles and menu modifications.Ensure meals for students with medical needs adhere to federal regulations and nutritional standards.Training & DevelopmentDesign and implement comprehensive training for staff regarding food allergens, safety, sanitation, and customer service.Participate in the planning and training of department meetings.QualificationsRequired: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Nutrition, or Hotel and Restaurant Management.Required: Certification as a Registered Dietitian or Diet Technician.Required: Two years of experience in health/safety, employee relations, or training functions for a food service organization (preferably in education).Preferred: Previous supervisory experience and food service experience in an educational setting.Key SkillsKnowledge of federal, state, and local codes governing food handling.Strong understanding of performance management and staff development.Ability to prioritize multiple projects and make sound business decisions based on data.Effective verbal and written communication skills to maintain relationships with staff and families.Physical Requirements and Work EnvironmentLifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; and significant fine finger dexterity.Must be able to lift at least 25 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally.Generally, the job requires 80% sitting, 10% walking, and 10% standing.This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.Frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions when visiting sites, extreme cold, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock and vibration.Noise level in the work environment is usually loud when at location kitchens, but quiet when in office setting.Salary: $92, - $,DOQ, plus generous benefit package.
