Sr. Inventory Accounting Analyst

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Senior Inventory Accounting Analyst to join our team in Mooresville, North Carolina. This is a long-term contract position ideal for someone with extensive experience in cost accounting and inventory management. The role requires strong analytical skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders to ensure accurate inventory costing and financial reporting. Responsibilities: u2022 Analyze inventory and costing data to develop tools and reports that enhance understanding of product and service costs. u2022 Participate in weekly physical inventory counts to ensure accurate tracking and valuation. u2022 Collaborate with internal and external management teams to determine appropriate costs for distributed products, raw materials, and logistics services. u2022 Provide support for other accounting functions, including accounts receivable and accounts payable, as needed. u2022 Ensure accurate freight costing and logistics analysis for both internal and external third-party providers. u2022 Utilize advanced Excel skills to streamline processes and improve data accuracy. u2022 Maintain a substantial understanding of product costing, particularly within the distribution industry. u2022 Work onsite initially, transitioning to a hybrid schedule once fully acclimated to the role. Requirements u2022 Minimum of 7 years of experience in inventory accounting or cost accounting. u2022 Strong expertise in inventory analysis, reconciliation, and financial reporting. u2022 Proficiency in advanced Excel; experience with system is a plus. u2022 Comprehensive knowledge of product costing, including freight and logistics costs. u2022 Familiarity with physical inventory processes and raw material valuation. u2022 Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners. u2022 Experience in the distribution industry is highly desirable. u2022 Flexible and adaptable to support various accounting functions when necessary.
