Jacobs is seeking a highly-motivated International Code Council (ICC) Certified Chief Building Official to join our team our Municipal Services Team in North Metro Atlanta, GA. In this role, you'll manage and direct the programs and activities of the Building Division within the Community Development Department that includes permit processing and plan review functions to ensure compliance with adopted local and state codes, including the International Building, Plumbing, and Mechanical Codes, and the National Electrical Code, and federal/state/local ordinances, standards, policies, and laws. This classification assists with the most complex inspections and provides fiscal oversight for program budget.The Chief Building Official manages a staff of professional and technical fulltime employees and provides daily direction, planning, scheduling work activities, and monitoring to ensure consistent and uniformapplication of codes and standards. The CBO may also serve as the Plan Reviewer as needed.Essential Duties and Responsibilitiesu2022 Manage the review of commercial and residential projects for compliance with building codes, City ordinances and State lawsu2022 Coordinate, enforce and provide specialized assistance for inspection of all work authorized by permit on commercial and single-family residences to assure conformity to approvedplans and applicable ordinances, codes, laws and proceduresu2022 Determine completeness and accuracy of building permit applications and review for code and standards conformanceu2022 Authorize the issuance of Building Permitsu2022 Coordinate technical reviews and serve as City liaison to customersu2022 Respond to field emergencies and coordinate appropriate responseu2022 Issue and authorize
