Become a part of our caring community and help us put health first The Corporate Communications team at Humana leads and executes strategies for external stakeholder engagement, media relations, employee communications, public affairs, issues, and crisis communications. The team plays a central role in reinforcing Humanau2019s brand promise and enhancing its reputation across various corporate stakeholders. We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Corporate Communications to lead our external communications efforts. This role is critical in shaping and delivering our corporate message to various external audiences, including media, attentive public and influencers. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in complex business environments, regulatory industries, and multi-stakeholder communications and campaigns, particularly within the healthcare sector. This individual will also have a proven ability to drive major corporate or enterprise communication priorities, including corporate purpose campaigns, provider / system advocacy campaigns and other complex enterprise communication priorities. Key Responsibilities are: + Develop and deploy a modern, unified communications strategy that builds Humana's corporate reputation among key audiences, including media, attentive public, healthcare influencers, and consumers. + Be a strong and dynamic senior leader with a track record of successfully shaping and implementing compelling communications campaigns. Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of communications work against core objectives and identify areas for improvement. + Cultivate and maintain relationships with key external stakeholders, including industry associations, journalists, ensuring alignment and support for the company's initiatives. + Navigate complex regulatory environments by developing clear and compliant communication strategies related to Medicaid, Medicare, and other healthcare regulations. + Lead the development and execution of sophisticated issue mitigation plans, ensuring the company is prepared to respond swiftly and effectively to any potential needs. + Provide strategic counsel to senior leadership on external communication matters, including speechwriting and media training. + Partner closely with teams across Corporate Communications, Business Functions, and Operations to align on high-visibility campaigns and business needs. + Be part of a high-performing communications team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement. + Ensure a modern, digital-first approach to the use of both traditional and social media channels to influence key stakeholders. Use your skills to make an impact Required Qualifications + Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or Political Science. + Minimum of 10 years of experience in corporate communications, with a focus on external communications. + Proven experience in complex business environments and regulatory industries. + Strong understanding of the Healthcare sector. + Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. + Demonstrated ability to manage multi-stakeholder communications and build relationships with diverse audiences. + Experience in crisis communications and media relations. + Strong leadership and team management skills. + Ability to think strategically and execute tactically. + In this role you will have up to 25% travel based on business need and requirements. + In this role you will not have any direct reports and perform as an individual contributor. + This role is fully remote within the United States. Preferred skills: + Medicaid and Medicare experience + Master's degree + Management experience In this role you will report to an Associate Vice President of Corporate Communications. Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required. Scheduled Weekly Hours 40 Pay Range The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc. $168,000 - $231,000 per year This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
