Job Description

Description Lead preparation of control systems (DCS and/or PLC), Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems (CEMS) and instrument contracts. Manage control system retrofits and migrations. Develop detailed scope documents to identify how the upgrade/migration will be executed. Lead preparation of instrumentation design deliverables, including Instrument List, Instrument Construction Specifications, Instrument Installation Details, and Instrument Location Plans. Develop piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID's) and equipment subcontract package specifications. Manage instrument and control system specifications, instrument and instrument valve data sheets, request for quotation (RFQ) and technical bid summaries. Design control system logic and configuration, graphic interfaces, and Input/Output (I/O) lists. Manage vendor I/O and instrument lists; coordinate I/O to determine partitioning of the control system hardware. Manage verification of design calculations, project studies and report preparation. Lead development of specifications and site study for design of systems; and provide assistance with P&ID design including instrumentation and related mechanical design. Evaluate technical bids and managing vendor contracts. Review and approve vendor drawings. Plan and conduct Factory Acceptance Tests, control wiring design, and logic design. Provide technical assistance during commissioning at project site. Manage quality reviews of project submittals. Manage sales and marketing efforts and identify key pursuits. Provide leadership, guidance, and instruction to less experienced staff. Responsible for QA/QC process adherence. Responsible for compliance with company and site safety policies. Complies with all policies and standards. Telecommuting is allowed up to 30 days per year. Primarily domestic travel up to 25% is required based on project needs. Qualifications Requires a Bacheloru2019s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Engineering Technology, Electronic Engineering, or a directly related field from an accredited program plus seven (7) years of Instrument and Control engineering experience in food & beverage and consumer product industry. Alternatively, the employer will accept a Masteru2019s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Engineering Technology, Electronic Engineering, or a directly related field from an accredited program plus six (6) years of Instrument & Control engineering experience in food & beverage and consumer product industry in lieu of a Bacheloru2019s degree plus seven (7) years of described experience. Must have six (6) years of experience in each of the following: + Microsoft Office Suite including to create engineering & design tools for data and calculations Knowledge of NFPA, IEEE, and IEC, industry standards relevant to Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Engineering for the Food & Beverage and Consumer Product Industry. + Performing Front-End leading all aspects of a large project as a lead I&C Engineer, including estimating, budgeting, scheduling, managing progress, assigning tasks to the team, and being responsible charge for the discipline. + Performing project planning, project risk assessment, and project management of change for the I&C discipline. + P&IDs, Datasheets, Process Control Narratives, Control System Architecture and diagrams. + I&C design work, including wiring diagrams, loop diagrams, communication networks, instrument lists, instrument specification sheets, 3D modeling, location plans, installation details, plot plans, layouts, panel details, User Requirement Documents, Software Design Basis Documents etc. + Conducting Factory Acceptance Tests for major I&C equipment, specifically the control systems. + Support power-on checkouts. + Supervise & Inspect the Installation & Startup activities. + Answering fieldu2019s Request for Information (RFIu2019s) relating to the assigned project within the I&C discipline. + Programming PLC, HMI/SCADA systems for packaging line integration, process control application, Warehouse Management systems. + AutoCAD, BIM (Revit), and 3D Rendering Programs such as Navisworks. Telecommuting is allowed up to 30 days per year. Primarily domestic travel up to 25% is required based on project needs. $140,000 - $200,000 The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in compliance with all local/state regulations. The expected compensation range for this position is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: individual education, qualifications, prior work experience and work location. The total annual compensation package will consist of a base salary and eligibility to participate in our discretionary year-end incentive bonus program.
