Powell is an engineered to order manufacturer of switchgear and electrical equipment for the power generation industry. The Lead Assembler is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the assembly process of products in a manufacturing setting. Four 10s Schedule: Monday-Thursday 2:30pm-1:00am. The Lead Assembler is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the assembly process of products in a manufacturing setting. They supervise a team of assemblers, ensuring that production targets are met and quality standards are maintained. The Lead Assembler also assists in training new assemblers, troubleshooting assembly issues, and implementing process improvements. They collaborate with other departments, such as engineering and quality assurance, to ensure efficient and effective assembly operations. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this role. Supervision None Essential Responsibilities u2022Train employees; assist in new employee training plans u2022Communicate and delegate daily priorities to other employees u2022Release jobs to QA/QC u2022Write purchase requisitions; order parts of GEXPRO u2022Lead/Mentor 6S and continuous improvement projects, including Kaizen events u2022Lead Quality Initiatives u2022Communicate within department and with other departments to resolve issues and drive timely completion of jobs u2022Review bill of materials and drawings for issues u2022Assist in interviews and new hire selection u2022Identify training needs for the group and help develop appropriate training plan u2022Assist in tracking job efficiency and productivity u2022Assist in employee evaluation process u2022Communicate passdown information u2022Lead Safety and Quality meetings u2022Support the enforcement of Powell's policies and safety program Minimum Qualifications u2022Minimum education level of a High School Diploma or General Education Equivalent Diploma is preferred. u20228 years of experience in a manufacturing environment u2022Knowledge of system software (i.e. Oracle, MES, True View) to look up parts and drawings. u2022Lift up to 50lbs using proper lifting techniques. Skills, Abilities & Other Requirements u2022Ability to complete complex engineering changes. u2022Read and understand spec sheets and follow proper use of hardware by spec requirements. u2022Advanced knowledge of single and three-line drawings, including symbols u2022Ability to identify part discrepancies and properly write HFDs for corrections u2022Knowledge of mechanical drawings and designs u2022Effectively demonstrates on-time delivery and the ability to stay focused on goals and responsibilities. u2022Self-starter with ability to take on multiple tasks with a drive to succeed. u2022Challenges the status quo; looks for better or more efficient ways to get results. u2022Ability to adapt to new ideas, technology, processes or product changes. u2022Believes and displays through actions that our customers represent our current success and remain vital to our future growth. u2022Demonstrates integrity and ethical decision making. u2022Conscientious, thorough, accurate, and reliable when performing and completing job tasks. u2022Able to work effectively within your team and around other departments and their activities. u2022Ability to learn and adhere to all manufacturing policies and practices to ensure adherence to ISO requirements.
