Data Governance Engineer

Description We are currently seeking a Data Governance Engineer to support our customer that is enhancing their Data Governance & Compliance team to build and mature the organizationu2019s data governance framework. With a significant amount of enterprise data already in the cloud and little yet cataloged or classified, we are looking for a hands-on Data Governance Engineer to support the foundational work needed to operationalize Microsoft Purview across the enterprise. This is a hands-on-keyboard, task-focused role ideal for someone early in their data governance career who is eager to learn and execute. Top Skills' Details u2022 2+ years of experience in data governance, data engineering, cybersecurity, or related technical discipline. u2022 Familiarity with Microsoft Purview and Unified Catalog u2022 Experience working with cloud-based data sources, preferably Azure. u2022 Ability to perform detail-oriented, repetitive, task-driven work with high accuracy u2022 Strong technical curiosity and willingness to grow into a larger governance engineering role. Key Responsibilities u2022 Work directly within Microsoft Purview (Data Map & Unified Catalog) to: o Register data sources o Configure and run scans o Classify data assets u2022 Support cataloging efforts for 1,200+ data sources across Azure environments. u2022 Execute day-to-day task-based work assigned by the Data Governance leadership team. u2022 Collaborate with existing analysts within Data Compliance and broader Cyber teams.
