Job Title: Civil EngineerJob Description We are seeking a dedicated Civil Engineer to join an engineering consulting firm located in the metro area. The successful candidate will work with a small team of engineers focusing on land development projects. This role involves taking projects from the design phase to completion, which includes preparing plans, collaborating with clients to understand the scope of work, engaging in stormwater planning and analysis, and managing permitting and regulatory requirements. While guidance will be provided by senior engineers, the role also requires the ability to work independently at times. Responsibilities + Prepare and develop comprehensive project plans. + Collaborate with clients to understand and define the scope of work. + Conduct stormwater planning and analysis. + Manage permitting and regulatory compliance. + Work independently and collaboratively within a small team. Essential Skills + Proficiency in civil engineering fundamentals. + Experience with Civil 3D and civil design principles. + 0-2 years of experience in Civil Engineering, particularly in land and site development. + EIT certification or the intention to obtain it. + Skills in project management, design, drainage, grading, and site planning. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience with project management within site development is a plus. + Aspirations to obtain a PE license are favorable but not required. Work Environment The office is located in Eagan and has a small, close-knit team of about 10 people in engineering and surveying departments. The team currently includes two engineers, with this position open due to the retirement of a third member. The successful candidate will work closely with the owner and a project manager, receiving extensive training and development. The role involves collaboration with field crews, which currently consist of two teams. This position offers exposure to a diverse range of site development projects, from commercial to residential, and provides growth opportunities in responsibility and management. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Paul, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $31.00 - $40.00/hr.
