The MSII Elevator and Escalator instructor is responsible for delivering technical and safety training to new and incumbent NYCT employees involved in the inspection, maintenance repair and operation of elevators and escalators throughout the transit system. REQUIREMENTS: The position is open to current MTA/NYCT employees who have a permanent status in the title of Maintenance Supervisor I or II u2013 Elevator & Escalator and Hydraulics. RESPONSIBILITIES: This role is for a dynamic and enthusiastic supervisor looking for promotion, skill & leadership development and overtime opportunities. + Supervise and instruct new and incumbent employees in the classroom and field locations. + Develop and deliver training programs including, but not limited to: Elevator Doors, Basic Motor Control, Principles of Troubleshooting, and other required training. + Deliver presentations, EAM and computer-based training. + Develop, update, and maintain training materials, lesson plans, and assessments. + Evaluate trainee performance through written exams, practical demonstrations, and field evaluations. + Coordinate with supervisors, maintenance managers, and safety personnel to address training needs. + Support refresher training and new equipment & technology rollouts. + Research industry best practices and incorporates new & innovative delivery methods. + Perform administrative tasks and other duties as required to meet business needs. Compensation: Maintenance Supervisor (Elev.) II Salary Range: 1st Year $112,717 USD 2nd Year $114,313 USD 3rd Year $118,338 USD For any lateral transfer offered/accepting of this position, your salary will remain the same. Education and Experience: Five years of full-time satisfactory experience working for a major railroad or transit authority installing, maintaining, and repairing elevators and escalators. At least one year of this experience must have been in a supervisory capacity. This position is open to current MTA/NYC Transit employees who have a permanent status in the title of Maintenance Supervisor I or II (Elevator and Escalators). Desired Skills: + Knowledge of elevator and escalator equipment function & maintenance. + Extensive experience in elevator & escalator maintenance, repair, or inspection. + Knowledge of electrical & mechanical systems, and safety devices. + Thorough understanding of applicable safety rules and codes. + Effectively communicate, verbal and written, technical information. + Ability to conduct training in classroom and field environments. + Coordinate with other training units to achieve learning goals. + Provide input to develop, update and revise learning materials / manuals. + Working knowledge and experience of track safety & track flagging procedures as outlined in the NYCT Rules and Regulations manuals and rule books.
