Ability to operate computer systems to maintain patient documentation, testing records, and other related documents • Excellent knowledge of laboratory rules and regulations • Excellent communication, leadership, mentorship, and customer service skills promoting a strong teamwork environment • Ability to delegate effectively and multitask • Excellent computer and keyboarding skills; familiarity with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, and Internet • Flexibility in scheduling of hours, may be required to work overtime, weekends, and holidays • Good oral communication skills and excellent organization and people skills • Maintains continuing education hours • This position is primarily light in nature, with a maximum amount of lifting being 20% of body weight; requires walking, standing, and sitting • Must meet the hospital's established health requirements Education: • Bachelor's [Required] Field of Study: • Bachelor's Degree in a chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution OR Bachelor's degree equivalency with 24 semester hours of medical laboratory technology courses; or 24 semester hours of science courses that include: 6 semester hours of chemistry, 6 semester hours of biology; and 12 semester hours of chemistry, biology, or medical laboratory technology in any combination; AND have a laboratory training program that includes: completion of a clinical laboratory training program approved or accredited by the ABHES or the CAAHEP (this training may be included in the 60 semester hours listed above); or at least three months documented laboratory training in each specialty in which the individual performs testing OR Successful completion of at least a 50-week official US military medical laboratory procedures training course and currently hold or have held the military enlisted occupational specialty of Medical Laboratory Specialist (Laboratory Technician); or qualified and served as high complexity testing personnel on or before April 24, 1995 in a CLIA-certified laboratory as of December 28, 2024, and have done so continuously since December 28, 2024.
