All while understanding that together we are even better.All the benefits and perks you need for you and your family:Benefits from Day One: Medical, Dental, Vision Insurance, Life Insurance, Disability InsurancePaid Time Off from Day One403-B Retirement Plan4 Weeks 100% Paid Parental LeaveCareer DevelopmentWhole Person Well-being ResourcesMental Health Resources and SupportPet BenefitsSchedule: Full timeShift:Night (United States of America)Address:1 ADVENTHEALTH WAYCity:PALM COASTState:FloridaPostal Code:32137Job Description:Leads and participates in laboratory performance improvement activities, promoting team building, employee engagement, patient satisfaction, and safety.Manages quality assessment, technical oversight, problem solving, scheduling, interviewing applicants, staff performance input, training, and competency evaluations.Performs assigned pre-analytical activities related to laboratory testing, including equipment maintenance, function checks, documentation, inventory control, specimen collection, biological specimen processing, cleaning, disinfection, quality control, and calibration.Participates in laboratory and hospital Performance Improvement pletes all expected tests and analytical procedures efficiently and accurately according to established procedures, performance standards, and departmental competency standards, participating in proficiency testing and adhering to federal, state, and institutional regulations.Carries out post-analytical activities related to laboratory testing, reporting results (including highly abnormal results) in accordance with established procedures, and providing technical and support information related to laboratory testing for all age groups.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Technical skills and aptitudes related to the laboratory testing, procedures, and processes performed in the department or work area assigned • Follows and ensures adherence of staff to the Corporate Compliance Plan and to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state, and federal agencies and accrediting bodies; protects the confidentiality of patient information and results at all times • Ability to work independently and adapt to varying priorities, including directing workflow with minimal supervision • Ability to maintain equipment/records and perform quality assessment activities • Ability to educate and train new staff in medical laboratory settings • Able to effectively communicate in verbal and written English with patients, staff, partners, and customers of varied backgrounds in a respectful, effective, and professional manner • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office. Ability to operate computer systems to maintain patient documentation, testing records, and other related documents • Excellent knowledge of laboratory rules and regulations • Excellent communication, leadership, mentorship, and customer service skills promoting a strong teamwork environment • Ability to delegate effectively and multitask • Excellent computer and keyboarding skills; familiarity with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, and Internet • Flexibility in scheduling of hours, may be required to work overtime, weekends, and holidays • Good oral communication skills and excellent organization and people skills • Maintains continuing education hours • This position is primarily light in nature, with a maximum amount of lifting being 20% of body weight; requires walking, standing, and sitting • Must meet the hospital's established health requirements Education: • Bachelor's [Required] Field of Study: • Bachelor's Degree in a chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution OR Bachelor's degree equivalency with 24 semester hours of medical laboratory technology courses; or 24 semester hours of science courses that include: 6 semester hours of chemistry, 6 semester hours of biology; and 12 semester hours of chemistry, biology, or medical laboratory technology in any combination; AND have a laboratory training program that includes: completion of a clinical laboratory training program approved or accredited by the ABHES or the CAAHEP (this training may be included in the 60 semester hours listed above); or at least three months documented laboratory training in each specialty in which the individual performs testing OR Successful completion of at least a 50-week official US military medical laboratory procedures training course and currently hold or have held the military enlisted occupational specialty of Medical Laboratory Specialist (Laboratory Technician); or qualified and served as high complexity testing personnel on or before April 24, 1995 in a CLIA-certified laboratory as of December 28, 2024, and have done so continuously since December 28, 2024.
