Description We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Agent to join our team in Ceres, California. In this Contract-to-position, you will be responsible for managing the procurement of materials and products to meet project deadlines and maintain budgetary goals. This role involves fostering strong supplier relationships, ensuring efficient communication with internal teams, and supporting shipping and receiving operations. Responsibilities: u2022 Oversee the procurement of materials and supplies to align with project timelines and financial objectives. u2022 Maintain clear and consistent communication with internal stakeholders regarding order progress and any changes. u2022 Accurately track costs using appropriate coding systems to support financial and project reporting. u2022 Build and sustain strong relationships with suppliers to secure favorable pricing and dependable service. u2022 Collaborate with the shipping and receiving team to ensure seamless logistics and inventory management. u2022 Monitor supplier performance and address issues such as delivery delays, product quality concerns, or invoicing discrepancies. u2022 Identify and implement opportunities to optimize procurement processes and reduce costs without sacrificing quality. u2022 Assist in managing overstocked inventory and developing cost-effective reduction strategies. u2022 Support the organization and maintenance of materials and inventory for operational efficiency. u2022 Research new technologies and alternative materials to enhance operational effectiveness. Requirements u2022 Minimum of 2 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably in construction industry u2022 Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. u2022 Excellent communication and negotiation skills to collaborate with internal teams and external vendors. u2022 Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite. u2022 Familiarity with cost tracking and coding systems for accurate financial reporting. u2022 Ability to work collaboratively across departments and maintain effective relationships with suppliers. u2022 Experience in mechanical contracting or construction industries is preferred. u2022 Knowledge of inventory management tools and shipping/receiving procedures is an advantage.
